dont mind me asking what a sound attentuator actually does? i only know it greatly reduces the volume like a resistor.

Sound attenuation is used widely from microphones to hifi system to IEMs, mainly to reduce unwanted noise from the music, resulting in a darker background which benefits many who listens to jazz and classical. (during quiet passages)

The issue is to reduce unwanted noise without affecting too much of the music quality, meaning choosing the right amount of attenuation require. Using too much attenuation can result in

  • Lesser details in music
  • Draining more battery from your amp or MP3 player
  • At times causing your equipment to under-drive your headphone or IEM.
  • Unnecessary colouration

I would recommend anyone to use them as the last option to solve background hiss issues. :)

Hey,wanna ask if there is an earphone under $50?

Yes and most if not all we have them available for you to audition at both our outlets. Some suggestion you can consider like,

  • Creative EP630 (now on GSS sale)
  • Denon C252 (On HWZ promotion)
  • Audio Technica ATH-CKM303 (new model)

We definitely have more of those earphones at that sub $50 price range and you can audition them all at our stores. :)
