some STI fav at start of year when ETF was $3.2, however many of them are not fav anymore and breaking new lows.
1. singtel
2. banks
3. comfort
4. SIA and SATS

STI a follower to major indexes (go down together when bearish but dont go up much when bull) rather than a leader, 2 dollar is not impossible.

STI has been sideways for so many years.

Now is best to accumulate using DCA.

wow. limited growth tho no?

i've been thinking if i should average down too. or I just moved the extra budget to HKSE? :s13:

my view is now those world ETF or tech ETF, SP 500 . the price all so high.

best safe buy is STI ETF liao. But still alot of people say risky...

no such thing as safe.

many 'safe' sti bluechips have caused many investors to lose money.

My objective is to have a stable yeild higher than my housing loan 2.6% interest.

Time frame around 15-20 years if I really have that discipline to hold this long without getting emotionally affected by market swing.

With 300k cash, should I just buy sti etf at $2.90+ at around 4% yield?

Just buy banks.

You can hold all of them.

A small portion should be in STI.

Amazing there are people who pay 2.6% for housing loan.

I pay 1.38% and keep CPF for 2.5% to 4% .
Pay cash for my housing loan.
