Nope. Top 3 of ES3 are >10% weighted in banks. 4th is Singtel which is continually declining in price, the rest are reits and corps. ES3 is great if you're just holding for dividends but overall since 2008 is flatter than an airport runway.

I’m being precise here’s it is different thing comparing XLF with STI.

I prefer XLF. It's weighted in banks and investment firms same as STI but unlike STI it actually goes up, even after a market crash.

inb4 complaints about dividend withholdings :s8:

Why XLF?

Why not just pick the best performing sectors in the US market?

STI is positively correlated with XLE and oil prices. Watch those 2 and if they go up, STI will also go up.

correlation doesn't mean causation though. so even though it my be correlated up till now, without casualty, it might not be going forward?

Received a Singapore Tax Voucher.
What is this for?

It is for certain groups of unit holders to declare the dividends in their income tax return. For example, those who hold the ETF in relation to trade, business or profession.

Individuals (normal investors), in general, do not need to pay tax on dividends. Just keep it for your record.
