New intel drivers allow TRIM commands in raid while all other raid controllers don't.

hey man, you've posted old and worse INCORRECT news. No offence

Intel has, for over a year, had drivers which support TRIM passthrough to NON-RAID disks on RAID mode.
i.e. you have set RAID in the BIOS but the SSD is not setup in RAID.

There are various scenarios for this, perhaps you have setup RAID for another 2 disks but you have 1 SSD not in raid, this SSD will receive TRIM commands.

If its internally raid 0 something like gtx590 and HD6990, is it TRIM compatible since its internally raid 0?
can use 2 RevoDrive in raid 0 again? (something like quadfire.)

2x 120gb vertex 3 max iops raid 0 VS 240gb revodrive x2 which one faster?

If you refer to my post above, no SSDs in RAID will receive TRIM commands at the moment

I don't think you can RAID 2 Revodrives because the RAID controller is built onto the card and then this is bridge by a SATA-PCI-X controller. there is no way to directly interface the RAID controller.
You can however use Software RAID in Windows to create a dynamic RAID with 2 Revodrives I THINK, but this sounds a bit silly unless you have a specific use of it.

I believe 2x Vertex 3 on a good SATA III RAID controller should easily be better then the Revodrive x2

For SSD optimization look for SSD Tweak Tool, all in one software

Do you think it is better to buy two OCZ 120GB Sata 3 Vertex 3 SSD to run in raid or to buy one single OCZ 240GB Sata 3 Vertex 3 SSD without raid?

If cost is not a prob and performance is your priority, then running RAID on 2 drives will be the better choice. Also that is assuming that you are going to use it in a desktop. Laptop wise, higher capacity drive is always preferred.

SSD on Sata 1 can still make a difference, if the HDD is the bottleneck. Bootup time on my 4 year old desktop went down from 125 seconds to 21 seconds My old hdd was running on Sata 2 and the new C300 is being detected only as a Sata 1 device. But the SSD still outclasses the HDD.

My Crucial C300 128G is really slow on 4K QD32. Only 32 MB/s based on CrystalDiskMark. Any Bos, know where my bottleneck is?
I am on Sata 2 without AHCI support (MSI P965 Neo mobo); Wind 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

I bought new drive. I also have windows 7. Should I copy my old drives content over or fresh install.
How to copy across?

backup disc image to another drive,
put ssd,
insert windows 7 cd,
restore disc image into ssd.

think should work.
else u can use migration tool, clone the whole drive over

relative Singapore prices are different. In US, Intel is much more expensive than OCZ /Crucial because the latter are always giving away mail-in rebates.

In Singapore, OCZ/Crucial are relatively expensive without the benefit of such 'sales' so Intel becomes relatively better value.

Of course, one can always mail order from US, but you can't get the mail-in rebate.

Suggest to reinstall fresh...that way can avoid any conflicts etc.

Also, it takes 10-15mins to do fresh installation now you got SSD
