Btw, talking abt SATA3, how comes there seems to be no interest in the OCZ Vertex 3? I tot its performance is also touted to be quite solid? Seems like everyone is going for C300? Any reasons why?

i guess it is cos c300 is cheaper, and not really much difference in real life usages between this 2 ssds.

I don't understand why Convergent cannot price their SSDs competitively like Ban Leong. There is a small markup for Vertex stuff, but it's within reason so far. :s22: Price diff between newegg (299 USD) and Fuwell is around 30-40 after you include shipping for the Vertex 3 120gb. The US$249+15 for the Crucial M4 and the SG price SG$420 is just staggering. :s22:

Convergent also distributes Kingston SSD. As far as I can tell, their Kingston SSD price is a modest markup versus US prices.

For example, Kingston 30Gb SSD going for S$99 at Fuwell, US price is the same after postage is added. So if anything, blame Crucial.

30 GB is not enough for Vista / Windows 7, unless you are willing to do a fresh install every few months or so. This is due to ever growing size of the Winsxs folder.

I would recommend a minimum of 64 Gb only for OS or 128 GB for OS + Apps + Games. Make sure you set aside atleast 64 GB for OS.

Hope this helps.

im personally using c300 64gb, for like 2 online games and another crysis and OS.
still got sufficient space to store my music etc. no internal hdd or whatsoever.
i'm a light user so i find it okay. for those who edits and renders video, i advise u to purchase an additional harddrive :)

Minimum bro. It's been only slightly more than 2 weeks since I bought my SSD and I've already used up about 60GB. Didn't install much, I've got the OS + updates, Steam (only L4D2, didn't reinstall the other games), GTA IV, Adobe Photoshop CS3, iTunes, McAfee, Microsoft Office 2007, FireFox. The other miscellaneous programs don't add up to very much and my data is stored on my Caviar Black.

So honestly, like I told you the last time, go for the 120GB if you can. At least you don't have to keep worrying about space constraints.

anyway loading music into the ssd would it make a noticeable difference? or is loading itunes in fine? haha itune starts up pretty slowly for me
