since i ord, in 2014, i been sleeping for 5 hours(MAX) and my body auto wake me up. the only way for me to sleep 8hour straight is after 5 hour, i wake up auto, force myself to sleep and repeat.. even if i sleep at 3am, 8am will wake up. 6am sleep,11am wake up.. so if i sleep early,10pm, 3am wake up.lol
oh yea, i need at least 1hr30 min to 2 hr to fall asleep too

I need at least 1 - 2 hr to fall asleep too if I can sleep.

Try Thong Chai (Thong Ji) TCM. Can google their website.

It helps my friend who collectively suffered from:

high cholestrol, (controlled)
hbp, (controlled)
type 2 diabetes, (improving. hb1ac blood test show lower every 3 months but still high readings)
fatty liver, (status unknown)
panic attack, (gone or no relapse, no longer taking anti-depressant drugs)
depression, (anti-depressant drugs no longer needed, condition improving)
sleep disorder, (improving)
body coldness (body warmup abit compared to icy body, hands and palms before tcm) &
knee pain (just started weekly acupunture, need more visits to show status).

My friend had actually spend $$ and tried other TCMs (@Chinatown, @Geylang, etc) but those do not help the conditions and ailments until tried out Thong Chai TCM (ironic: this is free), which works and improves.

suffered a bad insomnia on monday, went more than 36 hrs without sleep.

Jz went to see Psychiatry at Khoo Teck Puat this morning, doctor prescribed:

1. Melatonin 3MG per tab
2. Mirtazapine Orodispersible - 15 MG per tab but take half tab

After Taken medicine at 11pm, I felt dizzy and head like spin spin, very sleepy and quickly went sleep at 11.40pm, ended up whole night suffered dizzy but can't sleep at all. Dragging until 6.30am then fallen asleep till 11am. Sleep again 3.30pm to 5pm, after that feeling ok.

Is this normal ?

Any one have same experience?

You've been prescribed an antidepressant where you don't need one at all.

I used to get bad insomnia because of the crazy conference calls + traveling across time zones when I was still in the corporate world.

Was also prescribed mirtazapine when the polyclinic referred me to CGH. Gave me extremely bad constipation & dry eyes. After 1 month I stopped because all the psyllium husk wasn't helping my constipation & I had to resort to laxatives. To my horror, I had rebound insomnia after I stopped so I was on it again but tapered my dosage (5 mg) slowly over the course of 6 weeks. I also had brain zaps as withdrawal effects. Luckily I upped my Omega 3 supplementation & that got rid of them.

Bought valerian & L-tryptophan from iHerb which enabled me to get a good night's sleep WITHOUT dangerous psychiatric medications that have devastating side & withdrawal effects..

You DON'T NEED dangerous psychiatric drugs to beat insomnia. Just do research on herbs, amino acids & other supplements that can give you a good night's sleep.

what it actually does? better than melatonin?
recently, my insomnia is back.
didnt sleep on monday night
tuesday and wed night few hours
only yesterday, i got 6 hrs of sleep..

i just can't sleep..

i bought gnc melatonin 3mg.

jiak one nia...fell asleep but then woke up awhile having a bad nightmare.

scares the shiat out of me. :mad:

melatonin is a supplement that your body already naturally produce. it regulates your biological clock and it's usually used after a long haul flight to help against jet lag..

Sleep should be a natural thing... no need to get stressful over it.

The more stressful u are, the worse the problem becomes.

Just relax and give urself more time for this.

Try not to rely on medication first... use natural remedy as suggested by forumers here.

cant sleep at all whole night, very stressful now when see the bed, jz cant fall asleep.

first day, whole nigh cant sleep
second day, similar
third day, may be few hours asleep

Try lot of methods but sadly no solution.

sometime sleep few hrs at morning, or afternoon, night jz very stress

Think I getting menopause/andropause?

The worst thing is feeling alone when sit on the floor and wait for the morning sun.


This pain suffer not only myself but influence my family life, I really felt sorry to them

hello, just a reminder, ppl who suffer from sleep deprivation need to monitor blood pressure ok. Sleep deprivation can drive up blood pressure.

For those with Insonmia, I recommended a TCM doctor at prolong cough thread. His medical Hall is at Thomson road near Thomson cc...
Herbs are not cheap but he is good
