Suggestions to improve search functionality

Can we have the default sorting of search results be by date instead of by relevance?

I realized the relevance sort is quite crappy anyway and results are all over in terms of date. Right now only work around is to go into advance search and change the option - would be good too if there is an option to sort results by xxx in the results page but I think most here will be better served with date/time as default.

The tech team is still refining the Search function. Meanwhile, yes please use the Advance search if you do not wish the results to be relevance sorted by default.

The jump to other forum thread is locked so dun mind TS I post here.
Actually I find by bookmarking the sub forum is even faster to access the sub forum than scrolling through the drop-down list as the list are way too long. I propose to hide the sub forum with a + sign. E.g. Mobile + so when u click that + it will list out all content under mobile. Same for travel.
I find the list too long to scroll when I just want to go homeseeker...the drop-down list has room for improvement.

This will make the drop-down list shorter and neater as content in the sub forum are hidden when not required.
I access my frequent subforum via bookmark just one sec only faster

Just some feedback on the ux..

The search button is the action button.. Abit strange that its not the first button when aligned left/right.

Think the search and advanced search shuld swap position. And search button can use the same css as post reply button
