Why do you say that? Is the results less than industry's expectation or your personal expection? Dividend not so good or what? Tell you what, this is my 1st dividend from Suntec and I am quite happy with $251 for my 10 lots.:s13:

Today's dip, I think is attributed to the looming Greece crisis and it potential contagion on Portugal and the larger Eurozone nations.

If you are going to invest in REIT, think long term and always look at dips as opportunity to load up more. Personally I'm disappointed it did not drop more.. :D

The drop is across the board thanks to John Travolta doing "Greece" Lighting...
But year-on-year, Q1 2010 is lower than Q1 2009 which is to be expected.
With the coming year, circle line & Sands opening... I'm sure Suntec will pick up stronger... Challenging but it'll grow especially if CHC moves their HQ into Suntec Convention Centre.

My 2.14 cents

Paul, you almost caused me to sink back into regret mode!;)
I'd knocked my head many times for waiting for it to dip to 1.20....and by setting too low a target (with hindsight), missed out a chance to enter at 1.24. I was therefore pissed to see it go up to 1.30 and beyond. This, despite eyeing it for a while.

I subsequently entered at 1.34 upon hearing about CHC. Suddenly, it became a die-die-must-buy stock. I, for one, subscribe to the prosperity gospel. Even if I don't, sheer nos alone would have stirred me to enter even at the current price. Think about, if CHC could grow from strength to strength, numbers to numbers, so will it's business ventures.

I believe this counter has the potential to rival A-reit in time to come. So, folks, learn from my mistake.:D

Suntec Portfolio is much larger than SUNTEC building itself.. We need to judge beyond that.

if you have online account..as long as the word "CD" still in place..you are entitled to have dividend.

Check SGX website..see the company announce, check the Closure Date..usually you need to buy a day before the Closure day in order to have your name capture in the book record.

In future, mark down the Dividend Closure date for on each target REIT share that you wish to buy and try to enter the market 1.5 months ahead..this will help to get the stock in reasonable price..

Share price before CD...will shoot up to the equivalent value of dividend given..and after XD..you sometimes to see the share price suddenly dip to the arrange of dividend gain.

Friend told me this..and i observed the trend..generally this trend holds..however there are exception during bull period.

If you take a look at the other holdings in the portfolio, you'll realize where their core assets are.
Trust me, Suntec will make more profit this FY and Suntec REIT will surge ahead with it.

Well glad I was proven wrong. I thought after the earnings drop + the smashing that went on in the US stock markets that all stocks would get a pummeling.

BTW, always great to see ppl talking sense in this forum rather than a certain other market forum..

My concept is it is not feaxiable to buy this share as the price is too high. It is good for dividend. But think ahead, you need to fork out SGD 1300-1400 for a SGD 20 dividend. Not worth to upfront. Unless it drops to 0.80 back in 2007.

I dun know where you got your facts from so let me correct you.

This is Suntec distribution record since listing:

Suntec-DPU.jpg

So last year Suntec gave out $117 per lot. Even if you buy at today's price of $1.32, that a yield of 8.8%.

Talking about $0.80 in 2007 is meaningless in today's context as the economic reality at that time was so uncertain, not many people (including you apparently) would dare to put money into any stock.

City Harvest Church are being investigated for the misuse of funds

http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/Singapore/Story/STIStory_533481.html

MEMBERS of Singapore's City Harvest Church are being investigated for the misuse of funds.

The Office of the Commissioner of Charities (COC) and the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) is looking into some financial transactions involving several individuals and companies related or connected to the church. This was revealed in a joint statement by the COC and the Singapore Police Force.

Seven individuals were detained in a raid at 6.30am on Monday by the CAD. During the raid, CAD visited their offices and secured records and accounts as part of the investigation.

Suntec REIT was a recent purchase?
