Thanks William. I've excel files which are 8-10mb and it usually kicks my dell laptop fan hard. I'm worrying how the surface pro 5 will handle it.

Portability wise, it should be really good. Still wondering whether I should get this or Eve V.

You don't have to worry, I'm using the i5 version now (fanless) to process datasets of over 2 million points, while watching youtube videos... I'm sure it will be fine.

As to whether its a better buy than Eve V, I don't think I can answer :s13:

i7 seems to be an overkill as everything compresses into this fanless device and afraid that it will be overheated.

I'm using excel 2016. One of the excel file seems to have a blank cell somewhere in the middle of the 100,000 rows. When I tried processing it, my dell sounds like a Ferrari. Haha.

Was worrying what will happen to Surface Pro i5 if I run it there?!?

What about getting the i7 version? If cannot then need to explore other laptop/ desktop options already.

I'll check tomorrow. Lazy to turn it on. That's the problem with a laptop. I'm thinking that I will put my surface pro over if you asked me about my file which is residing in my surface pro.

In fact, I bought surface pro 4 when it came out but sold it within weeks as I feel that the device becomes hot after using a while. At that time, I was really disappointed.

what is the spec of ur Dell?

Cool bro!

Seems like it is working fine for you. How about the battery life? I'm always outside and mobility is important for me. I'm considering macbook 12" or surface pro or Eve V.
