Hi guys, would like some advice. My car is around 8 years old and recently it has been shaky/wobbly when driving. Went to do a check and they said suspension is very old already. The spring/coil(?) has worn out and they quoted about S$700+ for 2 pairs.

Is it usually around this price? If no, any recommendations? Cause personally even though old car liao, but don't think will change a new one anytime soon. Am also a female driver, and the shakiness of the car makes me pretty worried :s13:

Shakey/wobbly shouldn't be suspension.

Suspension is when you press the car down, it doesn't pop up immediately but slowly recovers from the press.

Sounds like a high speed balancing issue.

Doubt it is suspension, since the vibration occurs at certain speed. Encounter the same issue, change the rh drive shaft and no more shaking, the ball bearings are worn.

abit confuse, when you mention suspension,

is it the coil over, absorber or just the spring itself? LOL

Coil over is a type of suspension, but suspension is not coil over.

not true.
just that the term coilover is used more for aftermarket suspension.

A coilover is an automobile suspension device. "Coilover" is short for "coil spring over shock". It consists of a shock absorber with a coil spring encircling it. The shock absorber and spring are assembled as a unit prior to installation, and are replaced as a unit when the shock absorber has leaked. This provides damping without torsional loads. Some coilovers allow adjustment of ride height and preload, using a simple threaded spring perch similar to a nut. More advanced adjustable coilover systems use a threaded shock body, along with an adjustable lower mount for ride height adjustment, while an adjustment knob is used to adjust damping. Stiffness is changed by switching the spring for one with a different spring rate.

I was referring more of suspension has absorber, while CO doesn't really have an absorber.
