Why go suss if u can go ntu
Ermm.. I know that there are people (be it current student or those knowing from "hearsay") have this "stigma" on SUSS because its a new uni and all. Even my relatives (TBH) still thinks that SUSS = SIM = Private uni, although SUSS is already considered as the 6th local uni in singapore. I believe every school have something that will "attracts" the applicant to apply for that uni OR wanting to choose one uni over the other. For example.. in SUSS there are courses like Early Childhood (with minor), HRM (with minor) and Supply chain management (with minor) which I don't think NTU offers. NTU do offer those business related courses too, but if one wish to study specifically on HRM (or want to study that more in-dept or you want to NARROW down your career pathways). Then perhaps SUSS will be a better option.
For me, I got accepted by both NTU (chinese studies, something that I studied in my poly), and SUSS (early childhood with minor). Although both were my 1st choice (in terms of courses), but I chose SUSS instead. I picked the course base on my interest and knowing that that is what I want to pursue in the future.
Yes, the reputation school of the school is definitely one of the point one should consider (beacuse you never know how your future employer gonna "judge" you based on which uni you graduated from). But studying what you are interested in is more important (at least to me) instead of choosing a better reputation school because "that school is better, so I chose that"
