Hi, I am offered a place in UniSIM bachelor of science in finance with minor. I would like to know more about how does UniSIM conduct their lessons. As in their delivery method. Because I prefer the lecture/tutorial kind of lessons.

they are changing to e-learning type of delivery.
so do not expect the old traditional ways of teaching unless you guys complain.
after all you paid fees upfront to be students/customers, things wont change unless you feedback.

learn to speak up also, as your capstone module requires you to speak effectively during case competition.

if part time is e learning, you can prepare to expect the same for full time classes.
lessons definitely will be less lecture based, for business school can prepare to expect more in class discussions.
anyway go in and you'll find out, ask so much also won't get you mentally prepared.

Hmm I chose sit offer few weeks ago...haha
With regards to accreditation, sit acct program will be accredited after a year of running so it will still be on equal footing as nus/ntu/smu/unisim. (This is confirm by sit director).
For the overseas exposure part, sit has REAP program which conducts overseas study trips. But the crucial reason why I chose sit is because it is an autonomous university and hence opens up to more career choices (private+public sector).

Yes, for SIT wise, I've asked the same question to the interviewer and they told us that they are definitely going to strive for accreditation before the first batch graduate so it will not be any much difference from other universities.

Got a call from uniSIM for interview

Just gonna write what happened to me so far. Hopefully can find someone in the same boat as me.

I applied for uniSIM's Finance Major with Minor programme (full-time) approx 2 weeks ago on a Sunday (Mar 22 '15) and got a call from uniSIM the following Monday (Mar 23 '15). The guy confirmed my interview date: 7 April 2015

A week later, I got an email for the interview details.

I checked other threads, interviews are usually (from what I see) after the application deadline -15 April for this year.

Is this very good news or it's normal because of the large number of applicants (so need to interview pre-deadline if not cannot start term on time)?

I'm a JC kid. Does that increase the chances of me getting in? (SMU business management sure cannot make it already)

THANKS!!!

Update:
I got my offer email for FT Finance today (22 Apr '15). That's on-the-dot 2 weeks of wait. Gonna go for other university interviews then decide if I really want to accept.

online quiz not considered as e learning ?

good luck to all those full time or new part time students.
the trend is definitely going towards e learning (as mentioned by dean in his opening speech to all students) and this is inline with all tertiary education across all uni, no thanks to to model adopted by local uni.

there's even a dept designed to cater for e learning.

just because sch fees are more for full time students, doesn't mean you guys will get away from e learning.
the model is here to stay whether you like it or not.

Just received interview date for accountancy full time. Got 70 rp for A levels. Just wondering once you're shortlisted is it entirely up to the interview already? Or they ask a lot more than their offered places as a formal gesture?? And how do I excel in pyschometric tests (cuz im stupid)???!

Essay is JC's GP AQ format, ask your JC friends for notes :) Do your research well. Make your arguments convincing. Manage your time.

The cognitive test is easier than most IQ/psychometric tests I've taken in the past. Try out some legit online ones if you wanna know what to expect.

For the group discussion, they want the students to voice out their opinions. Remember: Diplomacy, not monopoly. If you disagree with a point, don't shoot down immediately. Acknowledge what can be accepted and then address the gaps of their argument to the best of your logical ability.
Dont let the discussion die. The lecturer will say time's up when he's satisfied.

Private interview...They will ask you about your achievements and generally, yourself. Go and read up on their school philosophy and style. Understand what they want from their candidates. Then channel the right attitude. :)

If you are sincere, they will pick up on that and then all that is left, is wait for their reply In 2 weeks' time.
