Hi!!! I too, have some qns regarding the interview!!!

1. I understand that the essay qns would be LNAT/GP style, do they allow us to bring in notes to refer? Would you recommend some reading up beforehand?

2. For the interview part, was it a solo interview? What are some qns that will be asked? (I understand that it will differ for different interviews) did you handle it casually? Was it nerve wrecking for you?

I am probably the least qualified person to answer ur Qs....but below are some of my thoughts.

1) This year is Zoom styled and screen sharing....so if you are multi-screen smartly or refer to hard copies books and only shared the writing view, nobody will know about the additional notes.

2) This is easily presumed to be solo i.e 1: panel of interviewers. I will use it as another job interview encounter except these are legal eagles.

Maybe I can help with some of the questions but I have not read through the entire chat. I am currently in Year 3 of my studies in this course.

Hi, I will be starting this Jan 2021. Would really appreciate if I could know the timetable of lessons. How many weekdays lessons are there and are there lessons every Saturday?

I heard that currently no students in this course is on track to graduate with 1st class honours. Is this true? There are rumours that the school cap GPA at 4.5 out of 5 and will not award students with grades higher than A- (even so they rarely award students with A-).

It is worrying for me because I am currently working and am planning to work and study at the same time.

Thank you and am glad that an existing student is reading this thread:)

I did my 1st degree in SIM (Global Education) under RMIT, Business Marketing. Totally unrelated to law. And my grades sucked.

They are looking for relevant experience for entry into the JD programme (I worked part time at a law firm while taking my RMIT degree, then while I was full time at a law firm, I applied for the JD programme).

Congrats on getting in :)

Are you in the JD program? There will be Saturday (full day) lessons then it will settle down to 2 evening lessons per week. But please factor in more days in a week for assignments (set aside 2 days at least)

I am not sure about this, "currently no students in this course is on track to graduate with 1st class honours." but I am like you, working full time at a law firm and studying at the same time.

The most important thing is to get a group together during orientation (a mix between JD and LLB or, all JD or all LLB, but my current study group/bros are all JD which I prefer). You will not only be able to help each other along the way, which is crucial, and like NS will most probably be friends for life haha.

My written essay was about "Vigilantism" in Singapore, if you support it or not, and give your reasons.

I believe that the essay is just to test your level of English and how you use it to express yourself.

For the interview, they will be looking mostly at your future plans to stay in the industry (this is important) and will ask you about your past volunteering/relevant legal experience.

Very hard to do preparation before hand. Just write what you feel about the subject and pray for the best :D

For 2) It is a solo interview with 4-5 panel of interviewers. Try to be yourself and be confident. Remember you wanted to do this course in the first place.
The panel consists of actual practicing senior/experienced lawyers in their own field and the faculty. They will see through you if you try to ******** :s22:
