i would say so eh. i think sit harder to get in than unisim aka suss. in general between sit and unisim and let the other factors being equal,i think the employer will pick the one from sit .

only NUS and NTU is ranked globally. SMU was mentioned in one of the US' colleges as a reputed business school. SIT has advantage becos of partner universities ranking. SUSS has no rank and probably will take another 50 years to be featured in a global rank. Even RMIT has a 500+ ranking globally. I heard employers do not accord SUSS graduates with the same pay grade as NUS and NTU grads.

i was told by friends tat their lectrs told them biz sch used new bell curve for grading assignments - down from 65-70 range to 60-70 range. those do well gets pulled down unless some goons in the class do badly. so demoralising. also, i heard the good lectrs were removed for full time lectrs - new PhDs with no work exp. full time students want to switch to part time becos of this.

The first batch of students (FT) haven't even graduate, are you from the future?

US MNCs don't even have listing for SUSS grads and also F/T grads hv little lectr-student contact hours unlike the RMIT, UOL, UCL, UCD students who have at least 36 or more contact hours with lecturers and also these unis are ranked and recognised globally. suss sucks according to one F/T student studying there. she said she just replicate what she studied from poly for assignments and did not learn anything new becos the lectrs are f/t staff - no motivation and experience to help students learn.

Are u referring to SUSS or SIM-GE? Which course are u referring to? With gd or bad result? Attain which level of deg? U seems like to "hear this hear that" rather than doing ur own research & judge by urself...

i think he meant in terms of local uni/cert. i think he is somewhat correct ah.

NTU/NUS/SMU/SIT(not in any particular order for this 4) den suss would be the last technically. Even if its not recognized for local u, if u were to place it to compare with private degree like kaplan, mids uol,rmit, suss would be first. .so still not as bad ah.

Things may change over the next few years. The news of SUSS being converted into an AU had just been released and the first batch of FT students haven't even graduated yet. Maybe you should wait till the first batch of FT students graduate before you generalise and compare SUSS with the other private academies?

Now we know you have no idea what you're talking about since the first batch of unisim FT students HAVEN'T EVEN GRADUATED Even if they did, it would still be way too early to even form a conclusion since their FT program only started in 2014

That's good and all but until they move out of their campus or SIM move out, it will be hard to shake off that SIM stigma attached.

For one to start a thread asking that question about an AU is....well...no comments..
I am very happy being accepted as a PT student in SUSS when no other local uni will take me. At the end of the day, its the cert that's all. Especially for working adults like myself.

For youngsters, well..might be a bit different as SUSS is "new". But, if you go into the name of this AU, its "Social Sciences". What does that tell you? They are concentrating on ..VIOLA...Social Sciences. That's their strength.

Like NUS ..is...I think..Business?
NTU ... Engineering?

(I am not sure...i gave up thinking about them years ago..HAHAH!!)

Same goes for the polytechnics.. All are good. just one better in certain fields than the others

It will take time for the mindset to change, look at how long it took for NTU (can't remember old name) to become NTU and to become world-known.

SUSS has still a very very long way to have equal recognition by employers. I mean if you can do social science in NUS why will you join SUSS? Look at the SUSS thread. All those joker complaining that things are more difficult and hoping to graduate faster as standards are tighten. These are the same group of people that will be the pioneer batch to graduate with the SUSS name. Lol

I think moving out of their present location is possible, but not within the near future. So far there is no announcement of them searching for new site
