Its my first time to Sydney with my family. will be there for about 2 weeks, We are planning to go to gold coast for about 2 days to go movie world and seaworld. Most of the days will be in Sydney but not sure where to go and also parking is ex too so even if we were to rent a car, there is this parking issue which we will have to be headache about since we are also not familiar with the place.

If you're in Syd, don't rent a car unless you're travelling out, alternatively you can book airbnb which comes with parking..

Thanks for the info guys. The problem with this trip is I will land and departure in Sydney. which was a wrong move on my end but it's too late to change.

And I have a wedding to attend mid week of the trip.

So it's either the moment I land in Sydney, I take a plane or self drive up to gold coast and come back on 1 day before the wedding and after that stay in Sydney for the rest of the trip.

Day 1 - 4 (gold coast and back)
Day 5- Wedding event at Sydney
Day 6-11 ( Stay in Sydney and fly back to sg)

Or
Day 1 - 4 (stay in Sydney)
Day 5- Wedding event at Sydney
Day 6-9 ( Stay in gold coast)
Day 9-11(stay in Sydney and fly back to sg)

I think option 1 would be better but then I only have time for the theme park and in Sydney it's not alot of bro encourage not to stay so long there so I'm not sure what to do. Lol.

LANDED: rest and ssrr drive to beaches/ book observatory

day 2/3 blue Mt

day 6 drive to Byron bay, then GC on day 7/8, Day 9 at glow worms/infinity(this also require to buy tix)/ nighttime can go BNE lookout for the night scene. D10 drive back

Alternatively, dun drive at all. can always take a day tour to Blue Mt.

fly to GC, then rent a car, and fly back from GC/BNE (whichever is cheaper), then str8 to check in for SG

Need some inputs for my Blue Mountain itinerary please.

- Early train to Katoomba

- Taxi/public bus to Scenic World

- Skyway

- Railway

- Walkway

- Cableway

- Walk to Echo Point

- Bus 686 then change to 685 to get to Leura

- Bus 685 back to Katoomba, check out the town before train back to Sydney

I'm just thinking if it's any possible to add Wentworth Falls in here? Anyone can help please?

Not sure what's your intention of going to Leura. You can check out the town at Katoomba before you go to Scenic World, and after you're done at Leura, simply hop on the train to Sydney from there.

Wentworth Falls lookup is about 30 mins walk from the train station.

Since you're moving about by public transport, everything takes a bit longer compared with driving. So try not to pack your itinerary first, that's my suggestion. If you really complete your checklist of places to visit, and there's still enough daylight, then consider Wentworth Falls.

For me, I'm quite a nature lover, so 1 full day in Blue Mtns is definitely not enough.

Thanks both.

Ah heard Leura is quite a nice, quaint little town. Why I'm heading to Scenic World first is because I'm headed there next week which is the school holidays. So I've heard the queues can be pretty mad so I want to hit it up first.

To me, it would be a pity if you go through the places in a "touch and go" manner coz you have a tight schedule to keep. If you know what I'm saying.

What I love about the Blue Mountains area is that it's so damn huge. You stand at some of the lookouts, and as far as you can see it's all rocks and trees. And no humans in sight.

I personally won’t recommend driving in Sydney unless you’re travelling out of the city! The traffic is pretty bad with tons of constructions going on man

First time to Sydney!

Hi guys, gonna head up to Sydney for 3 days in 2 weeks time and have yet to plan much. Will greatly appreciate your inputs. This is my first trip to Sydney. TIA!

Day1 (Wed)

Land at 5am++ local time
Thinking of renting a car from the airport straight and then drive up to Hunter's Valley to Tyrrell's Wines or Audrey Wilkinson 3hours via M1 (since 5 am nothing to do)

Breakfast along the way to Hunter's Valley (Any recommendations?)

Lunch around Hunter's Valley (Any recommendations?)

then drive back to Sydney downtown to have dinner (any recommendations since driving) before returning car and check-in at the hotel.

Day2 (Thu)

Circular Quay
Harbour Bridge
Rocks Market
Chinatown & Paddy’s Market

Day3 (Fri)

Explore around hotel area before heading to airport.

Before we look at the rest of the trip, I think you really should ask yourself if it's a good idea driving for 3 hours right after the red-eye flight.

Hi guys

Those who have been to Sydney do you recommend it over other cities(Melbourne/Perth/Gold Coast) for a family?

Planning a trip for around 1 week with my parents(around 40+) and Sec 1 brother in June

Any advice like tours to Blue Mountains for 1/2 days etc or free and easy etc?

Thanks in advance!

It's mostly personal preferences, but having grew up in Sydney and living in Melbourne now, I would normally tell people to go to other places first. :s13:

A week sounds like a bit too much time for Sydney (and surrounds), but you'll have a reasonably busy days in Melbourne or Perth (plus MR).

Wah 1 week too much for Sydney uh?

Does Perth have alot more to explore and easier too?

Trying not to go Melbourne because I have been there :s13:
