Those travelling to Sydney in Oct may want to take note of road closure/diversions

To ease congestion during major construction, which will involve excavation works, the rebuilding of roads and the laying of tracks, a new bus timetable will be introduced on October 4.

The closure of George Street, the main arterial road through the CBD, will mean bus stops will be moved to other bus corridors including Elizabeth, Castlereagh, Park, Druitt, Clarence and Yorks streets.

just wondering if it's very crowded to go to Blue Mountains on sat / sun?

I'm heading to Sydney during national day weekend! My initial plan is to go Blue Mountains on Monday... But i'm afraid there will be fog / rain so was thinking if I should plan it on Sat / Sun instead.. so if it is bad weather, I can still go on Sun / Mon... else if Monday I plan to go but bad weather then can't see anything right?

Weather is quite important I guess, otherwise can't really appreciate how large the whole Blue Mountains Nat'l Park is. I'm no weather expert, but based on my experience, the morning fog doesn't usually last beyond 930 or 10am.

This isn't smog like ~cough~ Shenzhen or Beijing

actually i don't know what is so nice about sydney. i visited sydney last year and the city is filled with tiongs and ****. i think sydney got more ah tiongs than singapore. city always has traffic jam and the blue mountains is boring. I rather stay at home than visiting a city filled with immigrants and bogans.

Melbourne and Tasmania are million times better

Not sure if I should get the MyMulti passes or Opal. Any suggestions? Probably will just commute around some parts of greater Sydney as I'll be booking a full day blue mountains tour - so no public transport needed.

Unless you think you'll exceed $45 of travel within those 5 days when using Opal. In all likelihood, you won't exceed $45, so Opal should be the better option.

Don't forget that travel on Sundays is quite cheap.

Unless you think you'll exceed $45 of travel within those 5 days when using Opal. In all likelihood, you won't exceed $45, so Opal should be the better option.

Don't forget that travel on Sundays is quite cheap.

My recent trip there, I bought a bicycle! Not a small one too!
I calculated that I saved a few hundred bucks compared to retail price in Singapore.
Crumpler store in Birkenhead Point had a sale going.

Thinking of getting some clothes (not luxury ones maybe mid-range, or is it cheaper in SG), maybe a crumpler bag if there's a sale... Or maybe factory outlet? Might get an Apple Watch too since can refund GST. :S

Hahaha packed it in the carton box and brought it with me in the rental car to the airport. Not too bad.

I think clothes are generally more expensive over there. Quite a few of my Singaporean friends liked going to the Nike & Adidas factory outlets along Parramatta Road some years back. Don't know if they're still there.

Well, from my experience the weather was OK as I was passing the Blue Mountains area last month, the week after some snowfall.
Weather report stated high chance of showers, and cloudy etc.
Generally it was correct. However the good thing about Aussie weather is that because of the higher wind speeds, the clouds move pretty quickly. So if you are patient enough the weather can change within about half an hour.
I was lucky to get clear weather when I visited some of the lookouts around Leura and Katoomba.

LOL... cuz quite sad if go all the way there then see CLOUDS only. Guess i have to just keep my fingers crossed and bring a brolly and apply water resistant spray to my boots lol
