World best companies? Best under what matrix?

Damn buying a IWDA or VWRA gives you more exposure than 1500+++ companies. This is just marketing la lol
I took the line "Over 1,500+ stocks in the world’s best companies" directly from Syfe Equity100 webpage. LoL. So it's Syfe's marketing not mine :)

BTW, (in your comment) why would you want more exposure?

IWDA has about 1,600 stocks. I think VWRA has more than 2,000 stocks. However, having more stocks does not mean better performance. In fact, I think more stocks will result in lower returns or performance.

As a simple example, compare these ETF tickers from higher returns to lower returns:
1. QQQ (100 stocks)
2. CSPX, VUSD, VOO and other generic S&P 500 ETFs (500 stocks)
3. IWDA (1,600+ stocks)
4. VWRA (Over 2,000 stocks)

I have invested in Equity 100 b4. Entered after US election period then withdrew everything ~ + 8%. Like I said, this thread is all about the new girl in town - Syfe Core.
Eqty100 theoretically shd perform better than core.....

u guys do knw that divs are computed into your returns right?!

For the sake of believ88, could heriophant just do a quick update of your syfe core just for this time pls:
as expected, 1st day of syfe core and immediately drop 0.8%. Will monitor for a month

It is likely that the 3 different Syfe Core portfolio values will decline further.

Because:
1. Gold is on a downtrend until Q3 2021 at least.
2. Bond prices are going down.

initially from those qns u asked, i tot u r really betting a portion into Core
But suddenly....
When u raised these knwn facts (although none of us has a crystal ball ie u never knw): i felt u r turning away from Core entirely....

How's the returns for Equity100?

Thinking of DCAing into Equity100 and Syfe Core Growth. In a previous Syfe information, Syfe indicated that the projected returns of Syfe Core Growth is higher than Equity100. However, it seems Syfe has corrected that misleading comparison since.

Wondering whether to have equal weighting (i.e. 50% 50%) in the two Syfe portfolios or overweight one of them.

It is likely that the 3 different Syfe Core portfolio values will decline further.

Because:
1. Gold is on a downtrend until Q3 2021 at least.

I m more concerned for Heriophant! (How he picked) Even i as a strong supporter for syfe, my whole family’s bulk in Reits100(still in it although channelling out soon, nt into core of cos) , cash+ and eq100 .... i picked what is best for the family....

if i would want something like a Core, i would have gotten more into Stashaway when Us mkt has a slight correctn in 2021!!! (Yes i hve stashawy)

i shared my views abt Core b4 on seedly and hwz too, but the problem abt hwz is all the threads are too replicating and all over the place!!!!
There is a thread called robos
And then comparison of .....
And then separately 1 on syfe cash
1 on syfe robo
Another on syfe reits+
Yet another on syfe Ari and syfe eqt100
They are all abt the same, why do we need individual thread owner to create them separately??!! Taking up space?
Making it for investors to consolidate and read?! Hence making rash decision?

also when indv thread owner tend to create just one thread on eg syfe core.... they tend to do daily reporting (not sure for...%#+%€#¥}€}•*}|>><¥¥<{*}* wat?)
Investmt are never meant to be monitored daily, isnt it?
Unless it is speculating!
Fortunately heriophant didnt do it daily updating
At critical dates/signifcant dates on stock mkts make some impromptu updates is fine too apart from the usual weekly/fortnightly updates...

You are reading my mind :) I try to invest rationally rather than emotionally.

Actually I'm surprised Astrea 6 retail bond price went up when it traded on SGX. Can you explain why?

Where is the link on seedly where you shared your views on Syfe Core?

gd tt u r investing rationally! Sir

rgd Astrea vi bond - secured by 35 private equity (PE) Funds!
Which is why i told u sometimes it may not be the case as we do not have the crystal ball,& somehow i felt iPo or most stocks in sgx tend to behave eccentric(& somewat disappting) compared to other mkts/ stk exchange

Anythin related to temasek (think Ho ching although she may be stepping aside soon) oversubscription and overzealous will be linke to her or temasek’s (b it Astrea vi or future vii , viii lol)
I m looking fwd to a digital coin which temasek and facebook are joint venturing on..... i thk they delayed the plans due to Covid(no news le, pls google the details)
Anything abt temasek is a “must” to take note
And i been hinting sg (not just sg, the whole world in fact has been/) is moving into env/green/ farming, in short Esg^(yes and tt incld our sgx too!!! If one is sharp)
I m quite surprised that membrs here are still spending time crying over Reits or tech
, if not wooing purely on crypto/bitcoin/altcoins primarily
(not digi coins are nor exactly those crypto coins har)- nothing wrong but...
When i thk wise investors elsewhwre hve spent more time investing on Esg and esg (thk of env/societal and governance)

Back to:
There are still hope in such bonds or perpetuals like the singtel’s...
Somehow sporeans are damned rich (plenty of rich pp : https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/have-50k-to-invest.6457449/ ) , they alwys hve funds and money(i envied!!!!) , alwys complained syfe cash mgt nt enugh/fulfilling and thinkg where to place their funds all the time..... hence bonds is alwys a gd alternatives afterall!!! where else cld we get more thn3%!
Anyway sometimes we locals just dont thk rationally, we chase after things which we think are popularly good!!! Not very rational at times

Btw, many speculatg is Stk mkt crashg soon, so bond is their cushion! ie why the reasn why Syfe core & Ari has bonds in-built too!

Plus astrea (a fact!) i rem got a f**king ultra gd cr rating for their bonds!!! Anything related to sg govt , most will snatch , if not where to place their excess funds, surely not in the banks!
Hence it has a “marketable” value ie why still can increase in price even when after initial offering/subscription!!!
+private equity — an investment class not easily accessed by retail investors but typically saved for the big boys, such as accredited or institutional investors only

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/11/pow...rates-this-year-despite-stronger-economy.html

Powell says it’s ‘highly unlikely’ the Fed will raise rates this year, despite stronger economy - but i knw sometimes theories abt those fed cuts may nt really work

astrea alrdy factor in by giving only 3%++ which is still nt an attractv rate during pre-cov times , but it s still the best alternative at this moment

More awaiting for gd bonds from sg govt soon!!!

"While increased bond supply is generally viewed as a negative signal, Singapore is proving to be different," said Eugene Leow, a rates strategist at DBS Bank in Singapore. (Once again, theories r still theories)https://www.straitstimes.com/busine...eal-yields-seen-drawing-buyers-after-sell-off
Bonds in other mkts may nt b popular that doesnt mean in sg
"The repricing has taken place
, and at the end of the day, supply of Singapore dollar bonds will still be modest compared to most other countries," said Irene Cheung, senior strategist at Australia & New Zealand Banking Group. She expects decent demand for the new bonds to fund infrastructure projects.

To me i will alwys ask myself m i looking for
- short term quick bucks? why bother w daily/wkly flux
- speculating trdg or really wise investmt?
- copycat/ chase after popular items or.....
- able to take how much shocks/ drops if nt dont venture then, will end up cryg daily when seeing volatibility
-am i value-adding to the society, helping the env??! Can we help to contribute and play a part in our future/earth b it for next gen or not even if we r talking abt invesmt?!!

Is reduction (in percentage of asset allocation) of Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) a good idea?

Is addition of Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP) a good idea?

Han why suddenly made u ask those qns??

it is placed in Their faq too which i prev pasted
- i supposed syfe is going for “the more the better” philo &

The Invesco eq wt u questioned will invest equally the stocks in the S&P 500 Index so that small/med cap stocks get the chance ....
(No longer by mkt cap weightage)
Syfe claimed that by doing so “provides optimal risk-adjusted returns for Equity100 going forward.” - so when there is a drawdown , the impact of fall is lesser “theoretically”

but but ...., the rebalancing will result in additional trading costs for the ETF (cos u hve to keep selling and buying quarterly to ensure equal weigtage). Hopefully not by alot- we hve to really see!
According to the official S&P Dow Jones Indices fact sheet data released from March 31, 2020, for the past five years, the annualized std deviatn was 15.51% for the S&P EWI versus 13.65% for the S&P 500.so This reflects the fact that smaller-cap stocks are generally more volatile than larger-cap companies!!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the MCHI and KWEB ETFs being added?

These ETFs are being included to provide an enhanced exposure to China and Chinese tech stocks. We selected these sector and geographical factors using econometric and graphical screens, then validated their selection by back-testing these factors using our point-in-time algorithms.

With the Chinese market outperforming since last year, we believe the China and Chinese tech factors will not only provide additional diversification benefits but will continue to outperform going forward.

Why is the RSP ETF being added? - but is this gd??

RSP is an equal weighted ETF that tracks the S&P 500 index. This means that every stock held by the ETF has the same weight, regardless of how large or small the company is. Therefore RSP adds a size factor tilt biased towards small-cap stocks. At the same time, RSP also simultaneously adds a value (vs. growth) factor tilt.

Our analysis indicates that the large-cap factor, and to a lesser extent the growth factor, might no longerprovide optimal risk-adjusted returns for Equity100 going forward.

As such, the addition of RSP moderates our factor tilts towards the large-cap and growth factors, albeit to different degrees.

What are the factor tilts after this rebalancing?

The Equity100 portfolio was constructed with factor tilts towards growth, large-cap and low volatility.

Following this rebalancing, the portfolio will continue to have a low volatility tilt in addition to a geographical tilt towards China, and a moderated tilt towards growth.

We have chosen to moderate - but not remove - our growth tilt due to the relative factor volatility between growth and value, and the fundamental shift to greater technology adoption globally, accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic.

I asked the questions because:

S&P 500 Index is an index of large cap stocks. There are no mid-cap or small-cap stocks in the index. RSP will give more weighting to stocks like the airlines and cruise companies which have gone down in market cap. This is one advantage of market cap weighting - the market decides which stock is better and which is worse. This means addition of RSP will give more weight to stocks that have not perform well during the pandemic and may not perform well in the near future. Is that what Syfe investors really want?

RSP does not provide any small-cap tilt at all.

QQQ is the "sauce" that provides the additional boost to the returns of the equity portion of Equity100 and Syfe Core portfolios. By reducing this QQQ boost by about 30% Syfe is effectively reducing the potential returns. Is that what Syfe investors really want?

I dont quite get u han! https://www.spglobal.com/spdji/en/indices/equity/sp-500-equal-weight-index/#overview
The S&P 500® Equal Weight Index (EWI) is the equal-weight version of the widely-used S&P 500. The index includes the same constituents as the capitalization weighted S&P 500, but each company in the S&P 500 EWI is allocated a fixed weight - or 0.2% of the index total at each quarterly rebalance.
Which is why i mentioned that the smaller cap stocks (in comparisn to )in the normal s&p get the chance too

We shd alwys learn to

- do research and ask ourselves qns first before picking/investing

-After we select one
That one has to ans all our queries!!!!!

btw, i alwys send qns found on seedly, youtube, hwz etc to their customer service and make them
Ans!!! They r paid to ans
They r not free labours!!!!
So i m not sure why some of u complained that fees charged by robos are high! They r paid for their service and dont ever believe in picking the cheapest! Nothing comes free!!!

i kept all their replies in email as form of support!!!too
