Some say can sell via brokers. I never buy SGS before haha

Personally if i buy, i intend to hold till maturity….lets see next yr 5y SGS still got >3% anot.
Yah. I bought only once. Through broker. (Prior to that I had gone to daxx blxxdy snobbish bank and told them I wanted to buy, but they just ignored me. Interest rate was high then).
Had capital gain but didn't sell except for that $10k. Took profit to donate that (plus some capital IIRC) to Red Cross for tsunami relief ( that's how I know when I sold 😀, but dunno when I bought)

dun need. but you make make a loss if u sell in between
If interest rates drop, the capital value of the bond will normally rise , no ?
The one that I bought went up quite a lot . I made a profit on the portion that I sold
I bought and sold through stock broker.
Bought an existing one (not new issue)

Typo in my post “may make”.

Also I was just addressing to the context of “must hold till maturity”

don’t need just that there are things you need to be aware of

OK thanks .
Now may be good time to buy cos interest rates are expected to start declining in near future
