anyone know about Australia Sydney OSIP? i kena that for this coming april attachment. what i need to know is the accomodation they provide? airfare who pay? no subsidy?

as far as i know, subsidy might have.. other than that ou have to pay everything yourself. for my school - applied science, my senior went to Adelaide for 4 mths, spent $7k( food, accomdation, ticket). since yours is in sydney, expect it to be more expensive.

check yourself leh.. go to the sch website.. each diploma belong to 1 single sch, but module wise, they might need to go business sch to take some of the module.

actually here is my opinion on OSIP.

To me, OSIP is like to go there and have fun. Let's be realistic, if let say you've done well during your osip, that overseas company like you a lot, expressed interests to hire you next time when you graduate, would you go? afterall it's overseas, can you bear to live your friends, relatives, family in singapore? well, for me i can't.

If let say u are attach to a company that is relevant to what you study or something like that in singapore, gives you a good intern pay, likes you a lot, expressed interests to hire you, right after you graduate you already got a job waiting for you, so why not?

Going OSIP is just for experience only. For example, I am taking Chemical engineering, knowing that we are just diploma level, what sort of research can you do? as my school is offering some OSIP slots in universities and some research companies, no pay, your major project is just researching, what u going to do for the next 4 mths there is to do, research work.

What I am trying to say is, haven't you got enough of research work during your first 2 years doing projects and stuff? right? The purpose of internship programme is to let you learn technical skills that you don't learn in school, so that you are able to get use to the industries here and not learn skills like research work, afterall, at diploma level, what sort of research work can one do? wash test tube? goggle for documents to help your phd supervisor?

i beg to defer, also depends on the country you go to. like electronics which is going japan, well u get to see how the japanese do stuff & the SIP overthere serve to make ur resume nicer.

OSIP doesnt mean oversea companies, some of these companies are local companies with branches overseas, cheers

hmm.. do people nowadays include attachment job as part of their resume?

some courses like engineering doesnt have sip at companies , so the only way to get experience at industry probably
OSIP. any people whose course bring them to europe or US?

never buy before..so can;t answer ur qns...but the insurance..i think not bad..? = =

maybe u can do a reformat after u buy from the school, because the default settings and names will be done by the school's vendor. A complete reformat will do just fine and give u a fresh new laptop. Do buy from schools, the offer on laptop in schools is better than those in pc show.
