Can you indicate how long the terms and the amounts of sum assure? do you need early stage CI payout?

Term till 101?

I thought the longest is 99 by Prudential?

ANnyway, my agent told me that is the best.. coz the others let you extend at 65yrs old but at a very very high premium.

AIA had one but not sure if still selling.

Sorry, miss out important details. Cover 200-250K. 30 year. Preferably cover early stage, but not necessary depending on costs.

Tried to PM you but your inbox is full. Do let me know if you need the quotes from my side. Represent most of the insurers in the market except Pru and GE so chances are you are likely to find a good deal here =D

Do consider $100k in CI and $200k in the usual CI, which the later will include death/tpd coverage too.

Lady ANB 29, 30-year term
Critical Care advantage, $100k sum assured for early CI
$818/year

Supreme living term, $200k sum assured death/tpd/ci
$670/year

Man ANB 29, 30-year term
Critical care advantage $840
Supreme living term $708

Anything above $100k for early CI can be wasteful because the payout is capped at $100k for early stage.

Looking to buy Term and Life Insurance

Female 26 non-smoker

Currently I have NTUC Living Policy (which includes CI, I hope?) $100,000.

For term insurance, I'm want something which goes beyond 65 year old.

For life insurance, I'm looking to increase my coverage till $200-250K and includes early CI. I'm considering to sign up TM Legacy Lifetime/Plus for now, but are there any better ones out there?

I'm not interested in AIA.

Thanks!

Yes, it does include CI.

Term plans can be extended till age 99

TM Legacy Lifetime is a good choice, you can add some coverage for early CI together with the plan, which addresses your concern.

Of course, you will have to decide which aspects of plans are more important to you.

Do PM me if you require more details on those plans. I am from an IFA and TM is one of our partners =)

Hi,

I believe NTUC living policy is a life plan, which includes 30 critical illnesses. Apart from that, i also believe it has cash value anytime you terminate it. Your plan is ongoing premium right? So you have to pay as long as the plan continues.

What is your concern of wanting a term plan? You want to increase your coverage for death, TPD or critical illness?

You can choose to get term purely for early CI. Early CI plans are claimable based on the stages of the CI. Different illness has different stages, which you can choose to claim up to a certain amount for each different stages.

If you are looking for cash values bonuses in life plan, don't include early CI in it. Let's say there comes a day where you decided to surrender the plan in any case of emergency for money or retirement, your early CI coverage is gone. I would suggest get a early CI term plan to remain protected for a long period of time, and whatever coverage you want to increase, work it out with a life plan if you want.

Recently, there was an attractive deal from AVIVA term insurance with 1 mil coverage. I was quite tempted to buy but I couldn't convince myself to justify I need 1 mil. I thought 300k coverage is more than enough if you have dependents. What's your views?

It depends on your income levels and the number of dependants you have as well. Assuming a breadwinner with 2 kids and a wife who hasn't been working for a long time, it is hard to assume that the wife will be able to find a job to support the current lifestyle of the family. So lifestyle is also one of the factors.

Anyway, for the Aviva term, you can just get 1mil for death. Tpd and CI can be less than that amount and you still get the discount on those 2 :)
