Around this time last year when it was $400+, you still see people commenting that they were waiting for it to fall below $400 before they will buy. But look how far it has come (y)

I like Singtel, Singapore Pride / Best Coverage.
How can Singtel be a good company when its earning growth has been dropping in these years ? Also even if it can grow the earning, it's just a freaking single digit, why put monies inside this kind of companies. Business model wise is too competitive wise not to mentioned about the previous CEO.

Not sure if the prev comment was meant to be sarcastic in nature but Singtel growth has stagnated and the tech now is not as groundbreaking. From 2G (Nokia days) to 3G (iPhone days, early blackberry days) yes, subsequently innovation has caught up and 5G is basically an upgrade of speed but takes time to blend in. their few ventures all failed to materialise (Amobee, HungryGoWhere) and though there's digital banking licensed tgt with Grab but it's got to need something groundbreaking to bring them to the next level. Bharti Airtel is a bleeding arm affecting their overall rosiness. Roaming used to be a big revenue but these days savvy people travel all either buy Sim card overseas or use WhatsApp/data to call back. no hefty talktime or data to earn. Not to say covid made it worst.

The shares are partially also kept cushioned by the shares that were issued in the 90s to volunteer Singaporeans which many elderlies (my mum have) are still holding (for dividends) and some may either forgot about it or don't know how to sell (sadly) for this generation

Telcos used to be one of the firm buys for Singaporeans. The days has changed and this is one example one must take note of market trends, even if they are a passive investor. Need to know when to exit or cut losing shares.

Will at least go back to test the $900 price. Even then its still too overextended. If you have patience can wait for below $800.
