Hi all, i also got a phone call interview recently. Roughly took about 35min of conversation. They mainly ask to:

1. introduce yourself
2. why you want to switch over to this industry
3. Position/ role that you are looking at
4. Senior or position/ role you targeting in 5 years time
5. Your past difficulties encounter and problem solving

You need to use IBF CV template. Otherwise, you will be eliminated after the 1st assessment. I had sent in my own CV last year which they had a record and state to use their CV template for me this year.

I forgot to enquire, any guys would know whether this cyber security scope is on 5 days work week or to include standby duty for night/ weekend work, or its 24/7 shift rotation?

I am concern since if to do shift rotation, it will not be my take since there wont be allowance. I already considering whether is it worth it to have 20% drop in annual salary income to move over to this industry.

But, it may also be good that after the first 2 years of attachment. Once converted to perm staff, you will get the increment and bonus that may eventually be more than what I get in the current industry.

Because in the video set by ibf which serves as an intro to the tracks, they clearly said that there is no guarantee that the trainees will be converted to full time staff.

Arh.. I didnt attend fully on the webinar 15/19 june. So i am no aware of this. If not convert to perm staff, then will have to job hunt again.

Understand that it depend on job scope, but i am curious whether its 24/7 since cyber security is mostly station near or inside the data centre where you need to monitor the traffics.

• Graduated from school or completed National Service (whichever is later and where relevant) for at least 2 years prior at the point of application
• No prior work experience in Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics or Full Stack Development

Period

18 months (For Data Analytics)
24 months (For Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing*, Cybersecurity, Full Stack Development)

TFIP trainees will receive a monthly training allowance of S$5,500 for the entire duration that they remain on the programme.

oh my god, no prior experience needed, and a 24 months contract @ 5.5k This could be a huge opportunity to turn life around if get a permanent job offer.

Even if no job offer... 2 years exp in such a 'hot' field sure will open doors. And last drawn 5.5k omg...

Times aren't looking good now. Many firms announcing pay- cuts, wage freezes, reduction in bonus, mandatory no pay leave, and even some are cutting headcounts. I came here looking for opportunities and wow this is a holy grail.

Yes my first thought is that this must be a really competitive opportunity given such an attractive pay. I'm looking through the thread to see what I may have to brush-up on to have a shot at it.

5.5k is not the highest salary out there, but that salary range for entry level is quite high and the income ceiling for that profession can potentially be doubled.

Competition is 1 thing, main focus is really on your knowledge in that area. Cause having the knowledge to me is one of the factor to determine motivation level. For myself with some experience, I have been posed different questions like, what are some of the failures/mistakes that you faced and how do you resolve it.

Bro u need to do caliper assessment right? They send it together or need to wait a while?

I receive email to do caliper from ibf say will have seperate email from caliper but didn't receive

Yes i am in my mid career. But well to do for my salary i cant say much since different industry different pay scale. By right for mid-career, it is mainly for age 35 and above. So if you go to those work fair or those career event setup by ntuc or govenment, you cant register below age 35.

But some how, this programme doesnt even look at your age as long as you had work more than 2 years.

In addition, you will still be consider even if you are in finance sector or IT sector related.

come share which company shortlisted you for interview. caliper assessments comes on the same day when IBF sends you the email. If not just email them directly.

Can I clarify you received the caliper assessment before you’re called for interview? I have yet to received any caliper assessment and interview at the moment. Does is goes hand in hand? Shortlisted for interview then the caliper assessment is sent out?

If your concern is shift rotation. If there are a lot of shifts (like 12 hr night 12 hr day rotation), they definitely would have mention it during the interview. Overtime and standby though, sometimes they might forget to mention because it is "normal" to them, for those whom have been working in IT field for long. Also if they do offer you, you probably still can ask these questions and think for a few days before you accept or reject.

If your concern is pay. Then you have signed up for the wrong program, and kindly let the others who want it more have it hehe. I believe many will still take up this program even if the pay was only 5.5k in total for the whole 2 years (yes, just 5.5k for whole 2 years, not per month).

Yes it's very attractive and competitive. I would say this program will still be very attractive even if the allowance/pay was only 500-1000 a month. Many will still take it up at that kind of allowance, just enough to cover basic living expenses/needs.

ibf say sgx ask me to do caliper but i wouldnt be too sure about the interview yet since havent received the caliper email. also other thread someone said a company email them to arrange for interview then afterwards say they are rejected.. so better not to have too high expectations until everything is confirmed

Thank you for the clarifications. Currently I don’t put any high expectations already. If I’m shortlisted then good. If not then it’s not for me. I’m sure there’s many applicants vying for a spot.

yes but there is always hope till end august...

cos even if u are not selected first, some people may reject the offer or cancel near end aug.. then our chance comes!!!!

i only applied for cyber security track. technically, i also havent heard anything since did not receive the caliper assessment even though they say have, maybe send wrong cant see the recipients in the email either, think they used bcc.

No. Mine doesnt mention that but more on management. And they enquire more on software/product/ project management since i have pmp.

For me email regarding Caliper Assessment came on same day from both IBF and Caliper.
3 days to complete the assessment from the date of email received from caliper.
