She joined in successfully, 18months of S$5.5k. Converted to Permt. But definitely have to accept a pay way lower than the training allowance, and you are still being labelled as junior analyst.

Is within expectations since DA is not much of a well paying role.
Can always move on once she had enough experience.
First year bank employees all start from analyst level.

Its expected, as looking into the current market salary range for DA way below the allowance esp you only have 1 year experience definitely still a junior. Therefor I felt the allowance even without CPF is reasonable, cos IBF may have considered it into the calculation, so those who want to change track can really consider it and wont lose so much.

Just think future after 3-4 years you can move to other company and earn salary above 5K as senior with CPF and benefit so easily earn more than 6K.

not asking for the FI but which training institution, digipen or NUSISS and what cert was given.

Just to get an idea what potential the person can go for with the cert (eg can use for seeking employment if FI don't offer a job - may not be because of performance but may be there is a headcount issue when the person completes the training).

Actually, 3.5k range is ubs standard pay range for new hires/fresh grad.
My ex colleague move on when his pay was stuck in the lower end of 4k to a big 4.

3.5k, i think that's really lower than the average salary for a DA engineer, if you look at salary guide from some company like hays. i saw from guide, at lest start from 6k.

can not understand what is their logical, trainee pay 5.5k, and permanent employee pay 3.5 k. i think that 5.5k most of them pay by goverment, not bank. if that so, i think very easy to lost all DA in 1-2 years. i believe it's very easy to find a job over 5.5k in the market after you got 1-2 year experience. In USA, this kind of job usually pay range at 55k-65k USD for entry level, and over 100k for senior.

Yes, Maybe because FI only pay not more than half of 5.5K, the rest by government. So when they want to convert the employee to Permanent, they not keen to spend more than before or more than they standard pay. Therefor they offer you lower, cos they need to factor in additional CPF, benefit, bonus, aws etc once you converted.. So Take it or leave it.
