you are most likely be paid lesser than 5.5k once the attachment firm want to confirm you.
so if you are not up for the pay cut after confirmation then better to look for something else instead.

interest is subjective, perhaps is better to go for some courses to see if is a really sustainable career for you in the long run.
So they pay 5.5k for 18 months, and once you get confirmed, the salary lowers down? Whats the next step if you were in that position if you dont mind sharing?

Yes. Trying to apply again this year after failing the aptitude test last year by few marks. :s13:

I wanted to apply the new course as well. But there is a bug in the application form.
Did you manage to get in this year in the end?

worst case situation is to look for a new job with WSG.
just make sure that your role is one that can be transferable to other industries

Why with WSG, does it give an edge against other portals? Am based overseas and looking to make career switch.

not sure about your background but maybe you should raise your questions with IBF instead.
they got an FAQ section, you can google for it.

thanks, but from your perspective, your first instinct was to look for new job with WSG. So why WSG if you dont mind sharing?

because IBF is the programe manager and the TFIP program is under WSG.
when you get the contract, you will know as the details are in the contract.

i dont typically think too much for stuff that is not within my control, just do my best and have backup plans along the way.

Here's the TL;DR:
  • Brush up on math, statistics, programming, and logical reasoning skills to prepare for the technical assessment. The assessment tests for aptitude, not prior knowledge.
  • Include any relevant courses, certifications, or projects related to data analytics on your resume, even if self-study, to demonstrate interest and initiative.
  • Research the financial institutions you are interested in beforehand and tailor your interview answers and questions accordingly. Understand their business, departments, and use of data analytics.
  • Ask detailed questions during interviews about the specific role, team, projects, software, and training you will receive to determine if it is a good fit. Get a sense of the commitment from the financial institution.
  • Be open and apply to multiple tracks and financial institutions, not just your top choices, as you may get offers from ones you did not pick initially. The process is highly competitive.
  • Have a backup plan and continue self-learning while waiting to hear back. The process has many stages and takes time. Keep improving your skills.
  • Understand that the training allowance is high but without CPF contributions. The salary after conversion to permanent may be lower than the allowance. Evaluate carefully.
  • Look out for late interview invites even towards the end of the process timeline. Don't lose hope if you have not heard back as financial institutions work through many applicants.

Got sent the invite to do the online aptitude questions for Software Engineering and Cloud Computing. Any tips on what do they actually test? Isit like IQ common sense questions via MCQ format? Need to speak to anyone via Skype/Teams one?

There is simple math like O level standard (eg. algebra) and also logical reasoning questions/puzzles which are still mathematical in nature. I thought it was quite fun. Didn't need to rush through the questions, definitely can finish under 30 mins.

I thought there would be coding questions or more challenging statistical questions based on what i read from last year's thread. I think they are just testing you on logic predominantly.

Good luck! Hope we are able to share our progress with interviews, etc from here forward too :)

Congrats to those that got the invite! Any tips for how to prepare for TFIP assessment/interview?

I am from the TFIP 2022 DA batch.

I prepared by taking the Vertical Institute Data Analytics Bootcamp which is also under IBF. Subsidized by IBF also. It was really quite helpful because the interviewer for TFIP specifically asked me about that bootcamp experience, and I could share some basic knowledge for the technical questions about SQL, Tableau. Also the fact that you take an IBF course I think shows sincerity in willing to learn when applying for the TFIP in my opinion.

For the assessment (if you haven't already completed), do prepare a piece of a paper, pen and calculator as there will be some math questions. There are 25 or 26 questions, 1 hour to complete. You can also prepare by doing some DA assessment quizzes online. Good luck! :)

Hi TeckSiong,

Could you share some of the questions asked by the interviewer? :)

In case I am fortunate enough to get selected for the interview.

Thank you.

Hi Aleysth,

Every year the questions change, so my year would be different from your year.

It will be 25 questions + 1 video question where you have to record yourself.

Some questions are typical logic IQ questions, some are simple business questions, some are simple data analytics questions. I would encourage you to prepare yourself by the 2 methods I mentioned in my previous post - take the data analytics bootcamp by VI, and also to do practice DA assessment quizzes online. It is honestly not hard if you prepare. Good luck! :)

No harm applying for BCG and doing it concurrently together with TFIP if you do get chosen for it too! I'm currently enrolled in BCG DA track to learn and gain some technical skills in the mean time. So far, the trainers there have been helpful and come with practical experiences to share about the current tech scene/career search. In the event that I am unable to get into TFIP, then this is the backup plan haha.

BCG have an upcoming DA intake on the 30th of Oct. You might wanna consider.

Hi Everyone,
Just curious to see if anyone has received interview invites yet? And if you’re comfortable sharing, I’d love to know which Financial Institution (FI) reached out. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone received interview invites yet if you don't mind sharing? The email stated the interview dates were 14 and 15 Sep.
