Turn out your pockets. Empty your bags. What goes into them?

Talk about your ties, share about your cufflinks, pull up your socks.

Share about your latest purchase and talk about accessories.

Vanda's (our local homegrown artisans) new tie is an absolute stunner. Haven't fingered anything quite like it. This is one suit-and-tie-worthy-seersucker --

Vanda's ties are 6-fold. Not 7.

My favorite go-to-sources for ties are the following, in no particular order:

1) Sam Hober
2) Vanda Fine Clothing
3) Drakes
4) Cheap ties that are made of decent quality.

Drakes ties, particularly those with hand-rolled edges are tightly rolled, and are as good as it gets. The lined ones, are like any other lined ties.

They are made by a Singaporean couple, who painstakingly handrolls and sews each tie. Most of their ties are 7-fold, meaning you're actually getting more material (i.e silk, wool, linen or blends) in each tie.

Their handwork and QC is a level above many other ties available off the shelf. Just search #vandafineclothing on instagram and see for yourselves.

Fast hand fast leg bro. I was looking at that for my first tie. Thought about it over one night, and by the second night it was OOS..

Still hunting online for my first virgin tie. Most likely getting from vanda i suppose.

Any recommendation for nice quality cufflinks? My budget would be $50-100 a pair. I'm planning to get 2 pairs.

Oops. Can't believe I got that wrong! Haha.

I managed to get that tie before it was out!

Call me old-fashioned but you are building a tie wardrobe start with solid grenadines first.

1 navy, 1 burgundy and 1 dark/forest green can go a long way.

thank you for your suggestion. I am thinking of getting one or two from ties. However, i do find that the prices from vanda is a little steep. Otherwise i would be more than glad to support local.

Any other suggestions on ties as well?

How about socks? Happy socks.. anyone have them?

Socks - Muji, althought recently they stop stocking dress socks. Else, departmental stores? I was lucky to buy a whole bunch of Brooks Bros socks while in the US last year @ deep discounts. Locally, will be a bit expensive. I like Happy Socks' design and quality but sadly they carry an import markup (Also I feel they are not dress socks).

edit: http://www.viccel.us/
they carry nice, affordable socks. with free worldwide shipping.

Ties - If you're concerned about price, Charles Tyrhwhitt has a ok one at 20 GBP or so. Else, I recommend Kent Wang if you want a great tie at a decent price (USD 70, 65 for tie and 5 for shipping)

Lowering down the budget is

5) The Knottery (wait for sales)
6) The Tie Bar

Where you guys buy your Happy Socks? Mine cost $14 a pair at the Bali Lane corner shop - Threadbare and Squirrel

I also buy Uniqlo, Renoma, Goldlion socks. All ok to me. Not very particular about them.

For all purpose use can buy Sacoor B staple silk tie. At IMM outlet is 1 for $36.

First tie you should have is a BLACK TIE. Follow by navy, burgundy, dark brown etc

Grenadines are expensive ouch. My "fun" ties are knit ties in solid colours but I just wear to office anyway.

I never order from Tie Bar before but I read Knottery is better reviewed on the web. Tie Bar shipping not cheap. Knottery have flat rate shipping and often sales. I order during their 4th of July sale 50% off all items including clearance item (i got ties for 5-20USD each) but missed out on Vanda clearance sale due to busy weekend.

Tie Clips most of the time dun need one. Unless you are wearing a knit tie.

Kent Wang again is my recommendation. Plain and simple design, made of real silver.

Paging for BDC please post your tie collection photo.
