The most obvious reason is demand.

The demand for dual sim phones in Singapore is not as high as those in Hong Kong, the same is true for Sony phones selling in better numbers in Hong Kong.

Not many locals would like to buy a dual sim phone so he could travel and use two sim cards in a same phone.
Many locals would either buy a fruity or sammy phone, because they think these are the "branded" phones.

On the contrary, it is not difficult to find those at Hong Kong who would buy dual sim phones and use it for travelling between Hong Kong and China mainland.

Like Hongkong|China, people here travel between Singapore|Malaysia

No point defending Sony, there are so many mistakes Sony is doing n we all know Sony's market value today

I am not defending anything. We all know Sony mobile is not making as much profit as fruity.

The fact remains that since it is not selling well in local market, there is no good reason for them to offer more options here.

What mistakes did Sony made? Can illustrate your point?

Agree. To add-on, Sony is selling well in HK as compared to samseng.
But it looklike now more pple is using Sony phones nowaday, at least when taking train when look around able to see pple using it unless few years back only samseng/fruity phones.

Sony is doing the right thing by having dual SIM versions. Its the Singapore Sony distributor that is f**k up. They just don't want to carry too many versions due to the small market. At least with Sony you can still get the dual sim version overseas. Samsung and Apple don't even give you that option which is even worse. Not available in Singapore only is not half as bad as not available at all.

my strongly worded complaint at Sony Mobile Singapore is How is Hong Kong Market so much different from Singapore. We also have many foreigners here who are prc as well who also do not mind having the unlocked phone that is dual sim. We probably have even more varied foreigners here who would probably want to bring the dual sim phones back to their home country.

So why bring in Dual Sim Phones in Hong Kong and not Singapore as well.

Cuz local market no big enough compared to HK. I also want a flagship with dual sim but its impossible to find one with local warranty. I even had to get an export set. Now the only "flagship" with dual sim and local warranty is the mi note.
