Going to check out the zoomed in picture quality because my wife had almost all of the Z series and the "watercolour effect" is really annoying when you want to crop a picture for editing.

Just saw a video on the Z5 zoomed in picture quality, against a few other brands recent release, and that issue is still very much apparent.

My wife just changed to another brand after years of staying true to Sony and me hoping their software update will resolve it but alas not to be

The Z5 have such strong spec but if the final image product is still sub-par, camera-centric users will stay away.

I hope during the launch event SOny can show that they can fix things and have a stronger team in their software dept.

Verdict
The Xperia Z5 is a great flagship smartphone, and arguably the best Sony smartphone yet. The slightly more squared-off design compared to the Z3 makes it look a little more generic, but the frosted glass on the back is considerably more attractive.

The best parts about the Z5 are the fingerprint sensor and the camera, but competitors including Apple and Samsung have equally good systems.

It’s difficult to stand out in the crowded high-end smartphone market, and not quite making two-days of battery is disappointing. The Z5 is good, it’s just not quite the best.

Pros: waterproof, good camera, microSD card slot, great fingerprint scanner

Cons: doesn’t live up to battery expectations, no wireless charging, not the snappiest, weak camera flash, can get quite warm

Sony's camera sensors are also used in samsung and apple products but the software processing seems to always be lacking in comparison.

Sony Xperia Z5 premium will cost me around SGD 1200 and it will be releasing 3-4 months after LG G4 and still you want people to compromise..

And please get a life dude, m sony fan but not blind fan, still using Xperia Z3 because of its awesome battery life.

If u advertise that much on the new 23MP camera then yes, i would expect the sony Z5/Z5P/Z5C to perform better than most or all phone camera out there, but of cos not to the extend of "out-performing".

I think this is spot on. Sony is a company that makes cameras. Just imagine if Canon made a smartphone and the camera sucked! Wouldn't you be saying shame on Canon?
