I frequently use the charging dock for my Z3C and I even got a magnetic cable for it. But there's just no way of using the phone comfortably without getting the cable disconnected. I end up using the USB cable directly. The external USB port on the Z5C is a godsend.

Anyway any Z5 user having adaptive brightness bug? Each time you unlock your phone, the display will adjust to the right brightness. In doing so, the blacks on the screen become somewhat washed out grey colour?

Used to have this problem on the Z3C and now it's still present on the Z5C

I believe its a measure to improve readability in very harsh lighting conditions. My Lumia does it with the option of sunkight readability turned on

Anyone have this blurry edge issue?

My friend's set has it. Tried the Z5 and Z5P display sets at Ion singtel, and both have it too.

Lens issue for sure since the mobile phone lens making process is based on assemble and check flow. No individual lens checking before assemble.

So, the problem with this process is that, you don't know how is the quality of individual lens until you put the entire lens assemble together. After that it will go through a check. If that's pass means it is pass. I guess the check couldn't find out such issue and faulty lenses were installed into z5 phones.

Before accepting the phone from telecos, bring one checker paper to detect blurry in the spot.

Sorry, what's meant by checker paper ah? How to check? Thanks.

Like those primary school students use.

A piece of paper with many horizontal and vertical lines printed to guide for writing.

With that kind of mesh, you can easily spot the distortion.

What about when buying from shops like mobile square, kasia, etc?

Good luck. I don't think they will exchange one to one for you even you show them defect.

Unlike telecos, they willing to exchange for you if any defects found on the spot.

Kasia did a horrible job fixing the glass protector on my G4. Paid 25. Poor quality. Week later the whole glass popped out.

Had to redo the GP with Jimmy and the protector is still fine.

I used one of the randomly picked phone brochures in the shop to test. Used the side with a lot of words neatly printed, and frame the shot to capture all the words.
I find that it's easier to spot blur with characters than eyeballing the thin graph paper lines.

think Kasia Mobile changed staff right?? now is a twin sisters pair and the friendly Malay dude.. no more ah beng lol.

and the blur on the left side is not a QC issue. I think it's what we get with that super wide lens angle. the lens is stretched so much that the edge will have some fish ball effect. can't be avoided

I think jimmy only charged 20 for glass protector, plus good service.

Staffs changed?

The two ladies did apply for my phones during my purchases. They change a new one when initial ones has issues and they will let you check if you happy with it. Else will change another one.
