Is it only me that find the volume rocker quite ok?
as a volume rocker is abit on the low side of the phone, need to adjust the way we handle the hp when we need to adjust the vol.
But when use as a zoom function for the cam, its really really handy n good!.
Overall experience for the event was good.
both my gf & myself are very impressed with the cam.
Both of us oso aiming at the Z5 Premium.
But i guess we can pass this Z5 since contract will only end next March.
So we can hope for Z5+ or Z6 (crossing fingers for a upgrade in processor chip & at least 4gb ram).

I find it a bit awkward too. But honestly how often do you change it once you've set it to the volume that your ears are accustomed to. It's less awkward if you see those as zoom buttons.

I like the Chrome version but hate its ultimate fingerprint magnet. I also like the matt back of the Z5s. But $100 more for 4K screen and 5.5... Dam Sony why your pricing is so wtf:mad:

I think the battery life for the 4k screen will be a big concern before buying one.

Sony xperia z series design same from z to z1 to z2 to z3 and now z5, monolithic design. The design is nice but is stale already and should have refreshed it after z2. Even other brands have changed , i.e. iPhone in each iteration except each s model. Even Samsung has changed from plastic .

Btw, having a 4k screen is absolutely useless except for bragging rights. One cant tell any difference in a 2k from a fhd screen (I owned the first 2k lg g3 screen btw), not to mention a 4k from a 2k on a 5.5 inch screen, unless it is a 40" tv. Worse it drains the battery very fast.

No wonder Sony is said to be selling their phone business, like their notebook business. They just can't compete and has never been the mainstream seller. And I am a sony faithful btw.

Design is subjective, so it is only your own opinion that differs from the rest.

Fruity and sammy still looks the same after all these years with the home button, even after Google had moved on to the on-screen buttons some makers still stubbornly refused to change - my opinion. :D

I bet if fruity comes out with 4K display, most people would praise and comment it is new technological advancement.
No need to bash the brand and go on to declare yourself a fan, nice try. :s13:

If this is ur definition of design change(image) for every iteration, then Sony has also changed for each iteration :)

I don't think it's hard to fight a 6s battery life to be honest. :s13:

i bet z3 or z3+ or even z5 battery will beats hand down on it to latest iphone or even samsungs s6 too
even iam a apple fan

i will say z series battery is godlike

today went sony try z5 and ip6s
ip6s is expected no brainer for a apple fan to upgrade
and z5 notbad feel too i love the speed of the camera launch but dont know why when preveiew is much slower

hope new fw will fix it

and the gold z5 looks damm omg shiok
even the green one looks damm nice the matt coatingand
the matt coating on the back make the grip more grippy vs z3 and z3+ so its a plus no need to use a case

if i will go back andriod sony will take my cash and not to samsung :s12::s12::s12:

To add in, seldom heard people complain of the build. Samseng lot complain of using cheapo material. Fruity evo as people complaining so small. But not sure did job jump out of his grave since he made a comment saying 6" is dipping own graveyard. Haha.

Sony Z series did change every 1-2 time as well. The very first Z is the unigue one(Polyamide frame + reflective side). Then they changed the side to aluminum on the Z1 then carried on to Z2. Z3 smoothed the side aluminium to round, removed the middle plastic injection and added shock-absorbent nylon cap to the corner. The design carried on to the Z3+ but changed the aluminum to stainless steel. (Although they changed back to aluminum for the Z5 and left the stainless steel to Z5 Premium)

I mean, come on...Samsung changed from Plastic to what? Aluminum and glass? Both Sony and Apple already been there, done that.

Last time, people also said you can't tell difference between 720p and FHD, look at what happened now? Unless you are comparing FHD IPS LCD with 2k Super Amoled which might explain why you can't see the difference because the current amoled mostly uses pentile arrangement which actually reduces the clarity. If between LCD, the increase in pixel density for a 2k display isn't exactly as high as a 4k display.

I had always liked Sony Z series because they improved alot like some of the followings:
-High res and bright display (brightest display for a flagship since Z3)
-slim and solid/metallic design (since Z1)
-twin stereo speaker output (Since Z2)
-high res audio output via microUSB (can connect directly with portable headphone amp, since Z2)
-high res audio output via headphone jack (Since Z2)
-good camera with dedicated shutter button (tons of camera mode)
-native dualshock 4 support and ps4 remote play (Since Z2)
-very good battery life with at least QC2.0 (if you compare samsung s6 charger and Z3+ charger spec, you will notice samsung's charger actually is 1 step below, batt life has been good since Z2)
-microSD expansion (all the while)
-lightweight/near stock android OS with future android upgrade (The whole Z series was upgraded to 5.1.1, not just a few models)
-fingerprint sensor (upcoming Z5 series)
-better touchscreen (touchscreen still works properly even when wet, also support glove input.)
-all above while still being waterproof at the same time

All these are just my opinion...

actually... it all voiced down to advertising to make aware of the brand. in SG, almost everywhere is iCrazy and Sammy. talk about innovation, each have their own. Apple have the money to buy other's innovation or the entire company.

Yes. Agree with your opinion. That is the spirit for the Japanese which continuously improve on every new product and most importantly, they listen to end user's feedback on the improvement.

Unlike Samsung, they are trying to follow Apple, they make their product on their own way and expect end users to accept.

in before apple release 4k screen iphone :D and all praise the might iphone.

anyway i believe 4k screen is a precursor to VR content on smartphones..

:s12: they are all just testing and refining 4k for VR content.. think of this as a early testbed.. :D

tbh i find z5 series one the best looking that's been release or gonna release.

they don't look iphone.. and yet its their own style.. very naise :s12:
