The Xperia Z5 does have its design, battery life, camera and water resistance as a plus, but it feels like it’s even more overpriced than other devices out there. Price-wise, the Lumia 950 seems more balanced, even though it’s still a bit of an expensive option. Which would you choose?

I was at Singtel shop at Plz Singapura B2 today. They have Z5 demo units in 4 different colors. The Sony promoter guy said that selling starts next Saturday (Sony retailers and telco).
Disclaimer: I'm only sharing what he told me. If it doesn't happen next week, don't shoot me :)

Opening week bugs aside, the Z5 update to the Xperia family is a solid one. The fingerprint reader adds security and convenience, and the overall design of the phone looks a lot better than last years Z3 lineup.
Both phones deliver on the promise of a great camera and exceptional battery life. And if you're one of those seemingly rare people who want a smartphone smaller than 5 inches, something you can easily navigate one handed, you won't find a better handset than the Xperia Z5 Compact.

Pcadvisor review

http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/review/android-smartphones/sony-xperia-z5-vs-samsung-galaxy-s6-whats-best-android-phone-3627042/

OUR VERDICT

If you're buying these phones SIM-free then the Samsung Galaxy S6 is the clear winner, more than £200 cheaper and with a higher-resolution screen and what's more than likely to be the faster processor. If you're buying on a contract, though, the Galaxy just got some real competition - the Xperia Z5 has the microSD support and waterproofing protection Samsung fans are crying out for, and with better battery life and more impressive audio quality to boot. We can't accurately judge which phone has the better camera on specs alone, but we don't think you'll be disappointed by the photography prowess of either. For now our money is still on the Galaxy S6, but the Xperia Z5 may prove to be the more practical phone - we can't wait to get it into our lab for thorough testing.

Not going for 950??

Its a nice phone which appears to be of a reasonable price and a good camera. Not to mention continuum which seems nice.

But Using Windows Phone 8 (and briefly, Windows 10 Mobile) I miss some apps (mostly games and some specialty apps) and also some newer features in an app that take a while to trickle down to the Windows version of the apps. But even then, Windows is a really nice OS. Super smooth till this date even on my 920 (SD S4 >_>) and the camera is pretty swell esp in video (doesn;t have the wierd jello OIS effect of the Samsungs). I probably will miss that when I switch back to android.

If there was steam building up with app quality and stuff, i probably will stick...but for now back to android...or at least thats the plan.

Kinda interested in the Camera of the Z5 + fingerprint sensor...But still weighing options seeing how sony updates slowly + chance of them sinking....thats why on the look out for the 6P too :p 5X would have been nice tho...
