Hardware revisions. Throughout a product's lifetime, the manufacturer may choose to implement changes (revisions) for better yield, design, performance, bugfixes, etc.

Users have reported getting revisions from 1 to 4 for Z5 already.

One user from XDA reported a difference he saw between 2 revisions (Link here):
They are also from two revisions; the tray is different on both of mine... on the first set it was stupid with the microsim and sd slot on opposite sides meaning you had to slide one in half way to keep the sim card in before putting in the SD card. The second one made more sense with both the sim card and sd card on the same side.

Just gotten Z5 a few days ago.. Battery wise also not so good. Think either on par or slightly worse than my current aging Z2. Already tried disabling a number of push notifications, location also set to battery saving, display set to about 25% brightness etc.. The phone also get heats up on its rear too.

Heard frm starhub customer svc that there is some issue with z5? Anyone got it can share? Rev1 or 2?

Mine is from Starhub. No issues. Battery is holding well though. Used it to watsapp, receive office emails and abit of FB. Still have 70+% when I reached home. Think the battery saving function works well though. Without activating it, it does drain really fast.

just jumped onto the z5 wagon. came from sammy s6.for the short duration of using this device, it's an absolute beauty.

performance wise have yet to disappoint. so far everything is running well like it should. camera performance though... leaves much for improvements with its software. I think it has a lot of potential. only time will tell.

anyway, what case are you guys using on the z5? in the market not much chio ones leh.

Does z5 really have poor battery life compared to z3? Deciding whether worth the 'upgrade'...

Battery life test by gsmarena. I feel they are quite accurate

You can see if the difference affect you out not

their battery test is quite close to real life usage

but do take note that z3's battery usage is with default android kitkat. if your z3 upgraded to android L, many users mentioned the battery life is slightly shorten.
