Stock, gold, crypto all new high now, really got to caution already, btw thanks for the bear indicator this round, got to scale down my trading now because even bear quiet now

Whenever an all time high has been taken out, it is very unlikely market will fall. Most fund managers were bearish so they could capitulate into FOMO. Ofcourse all this is near term. Just short sellers covering can cause a squeeze.

Hi Limster,

What is your view on HSI? Do you think th protests is going to impact HK, even though valuations are very cheap?

I looked at the chart cannot visualise leh. At least the 2year chart I can see the left shoulder has more depth than right shoulder and can form a reasonable horizontal line across the peak shoulder.

I don't think its that cheap compared to what I paid for 2800.HK earlier in the year, but relatively, its more attractive than STI ETF. I will still continue buy some 2800.HK every quarter.

I think so too that it's covering shorts partly contributed to the rise. Mkts are bullish and betting that volatility would come down and hoping Fed would cut rates.

I think Fed gave assurance to the market. But nothing about cutting interest rate soon leh?

Some thoughts:
1. European equities going to melt up due to potential QE from ecb
2. Trump will suspend tariff temporarily. To save face, he will create some bs story about how he and Xi will promise to work together. Recall the North Korea submit last year in Singapore.
3. Going to election year, Trump will want SP500 to reach around 3000 - 4000 range

The lower the cost of funds, the better for REITs :)

Yup, I was kinda expecting that. IMO a repeat of 2017 when banks & reits did well. But it still felt weird seeing my portfolio kept going up in June. I guess luck does play a part sometimes. Lucky to be a reit & bank investor :)

Yeah. Duno what type of news can crash the markets now.

Ermmm... I feel it would take something systemic, something really financially toxic or an actual real war to crash the markets. Something to really strike fear into investors. I can't see it.
China's economy has not been doing well even before the trade tension escalated. HK rioting for 2 weeks. But you know what? MNACT, which owns properties in China and HK rallied to all-time high. I'm scratching my head. Hahaha! :D

China and US meet at G20 and come out saying no progress and trump and xi wants to fight till the end.

This one will crash the market.

Yup, it will cause a deep correction for 2-3 weeks. Then Fed cut rates in Jul, markets rebound. Not enough? Fed cut rates again Sep. Still not enough? Fed cut rates to zero in Dec. Hahaha!
