I thought people get Hermes more for the quality of the goods? The leather and the stitching on Hermes goods zai right?

If I care only about the brand name, I would just buy all counterfeit stuff liao. Buy logo and paste. :s13:

Hi guys, am looking for a belt for my SO that isn't too flashy.

He's a conservative fellow who likes grey/black pants for work with black shoes (he thinks brown is uncle-ish even though he's already 30 :s13:) and currently has the one black leather braun buffel belt. (Not so much into brands)

I'm looking at something in the range of $300-$400 and was considering a Monte Blanc but was not sure if that is a popular brand for belts? (I only know them for their pens. :s34: ) I don't mind increasing my budget but as of now the designs on the websites of brands like LV and ferragamo don't seem to appeal to me so I'm kinda lost.

Please help this clueless person!

If you're looking for something subtle... I guess Mont Blanc will be quite a good choice based on your budget. :)

A personal favourite would be possibly be Bally, Ferragamo, Prada, and Hermes... :o

Good luck!

Haha Fabian, I'd love to get a Hermes for him but it sounds pretty extravagant for something so.... Thin. :s13:

Can someone confirm if getting a black belt would be a better idea as compared to a grey one (actually, are there such colours??)?

As mentioned, his existing is already a black leather with silver buckle and I don't wanna get something too similar, yet I worry that I might end up getting something that clashes with his wardrobe. Is black the only way to go if brown is out of the question?

Seannie thanks for the link! They look quite nice and classic. But I have this association that Dunhill is for my papa's age..... *cough*

i feel that you should stick to your budget of 300 - 400. hermes is in the range of $1k and you will have your chance to buy that next time. ; )

stick to black for the corporate look, and more versatile vs other colours like grey when come to matching... but if u are looking into something unique and u can find one u like in the non traditional colours, go for it and spice up his wardrobe. u made him sounds like simple person with little fashion expectations. who the hell think that wearing brown shoes is unkerish??! lol

i also thought so initially, but after my gal helped me search the whole of Orchard for my belt, this is the brand which she thought has nicest belt at that time, and when i saw it i also think is nice & didnt expect it. Price is below $400. I think the service at the paragon outlet quite ok. Nowadays alot of the "older uncle" brands are also doing a revamp of their image & products. So dont discount them yet till you see for yourself. But dunhill is not flashy, i think people dont even know im wearing branded belt. Nobody ask also. :( Unlike my ofc got a colea wear LV belt. That LV alphabets so prominent. I think he got the most attention from gals bah. :s13:
