‘The Bridge’: FX’s New U.S.-Mexican Border Thriller - Jul 10, 2013
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...dge-fx-s-new-u-s-mexican-border-thriller.html

The early episodes of The Bridge show some minor changes to the overall plot of Broen, ones necessitated by the shift away from the more cosmopolitan Copenhagen/Malmö border to the troubled one between El Paso and Juárez. One subplot exchanges homeless people for illegal immigrants crossing into the United States. Changes to the serial killer plot are fairly cosmetic, but the cultural divide between the U.S. and Mexico, far more vast than the relatively minor gap between the two wealthy Nordic social democracies in the original, provides even more thematic depths. Those murdered girls of Juárez loom large here, informing the story in unexpected and challenging ways. We keenly feel the sense of complicity on both sides, symbolized by those many graves.

The Bridge producer Meredith Stiehm on translating Denmark/Sweden into U.S./Mexico - JUL 8, 2013

Leading the adaptation is veteran producer Meredith Stiehm, who cut her teeth on “NYPD Blue,” created and ran “Cold Case” for years, and was part of the murder’s row writing staff for the first two seasons of “Homeland,” where she was responsible for some of the series’ best episodes (including “The Weekend” in season 1 and “The Clearing” in season 2).

I liked “The Bridge” quite a bit (review to follow later in the week), and I recently spoke with Stiehm about the choices she made in adapting the original, how she’s approaching her heroine’s social deficits, whether comparisons to “The Killing” (which was adapted by fellow “Cold Case” alum Veena Sud) are fair, and more.

would like to enjoy a drama by it's own std despite being an adaptation rather than go comparing, that's the joy

no complain against the cast or the pace, except that Diane Kruger seems too forceful not very natural in her portrayal of Sonya Cross character but at times she is ok

me haven't made any comparison lah. :s22: nothing to complain because it's juz tv. :s13:

going by its own merit, the pilot juz didn't grab my attention. basically, me not entertained. example, me like the being human u.s. remake more and its pilot did grab my wondering mind. but me like the u.k. cast more until the change.

guess shall wait for the dvd and watch all at one go.

whether me luving the remake doesn't matter. the chances of the bridge renewal is pretty high. it has the same vibe as the americans.

this remake reminds me of hk's infernal affairs to u.s. the departed.

juz when me tot it's a true blood poster, it's actually the bridge art.

imo, the best looking art for the bridge is the non-photographic one seen a couple of posts above.

may need some time to adjust to Sonya character
cap.gif

i used to love it, now is deeperer and deeperer... hahahaha

Maybe cos the sonya character is autistic hence might need to understand her character's condition to appreciate her acting.
