suspended wire mesh back is it? like the deuter air comfort?

deuter quasar with that was my 1st $$ backpack way back. super airy and comfy. major downside is the curved steel spring sheets that suspends the mesh back consumes real estate inside the pack

for light loads these are awesome. will hardly see such in indy brands as it is not cost effective to build.

Not familiar with deuter air comfort but concept is similar I suppose.
The other brand of bags I see with better designed ventilation rather than an after thought would be certain model of osprey, though I never used them before.
I am rather disappointed that this major aspect of backpack design are seldom thought out to address such common issues.
Another thing besides having better back ventilation, is the overall design did not make the andro look like a hiking rucksack and of course being in black helps too

Not mine but I found some photos to give an idea how the bag looks.
It has some nifty features not common during that time or at least in a 20 liter pack & thoughtful consideration to the design especially to a simple thing as a top grab handle.

Main issue is probably the look of the bags. That's why edc bags are not focused on designing the back ventilation. Those with good ventilation are usually ugly. At most, they will be using air mesh panel for ventilation but those have their own issue.

When you are using an EDC bag, you probably wouldn't be carrying the bag for long unlike hiking bags. Would you buy a 20L EDC bag that looks weird (with ventilated mesh) at the back?

What is the model of the Tantoka bag? Looks like air mesh at the bottom and the top is slightly contoured with the shoulder.

It’s andro 20.
I have carried this bag using the ventilation mesh as well as dismantling the internal poles for the ventilation mesh, it does helps to cool the back even for short distance like to & fro office. It is more obvious when during city travel as I will he carrying from morning to night
Sad to say, I was not able to find any urban bag with ventilation mesh
Personally I can say for certainly that this andro 20 model combines aesthetic & functionality beautifully.

Haha... I was thinking of designing a 24-28L backpack with a similar idea. Just that i was worried that ppl will find that back abit ugly compared to the rest of the EDC bag in the market.

These days ppl look for a simple & utilitarian design.

Not sure about the rest but for me, the andro looks fine but of course if I were to nitpick, I would prefer the front to look more urban type)
I personally prefer those with minimalistic look with practical & usable features but with premium materials & as a bonus, hidden features/compartments will be good.
Anyway, simple & practical design is doable. Take for example "andro" but with a more urban looking front
That could be a niche market.

Just wondering but what is general consensus on Thule backpacks here in terms of quality? Been using Timbuk2 Spire for about 6 years and held up pretty well. However, can see some wear & tear now so moving it on.

Is Thule Subterra 25L a good choice?

It really depends on your style. Example: Colourful - Topo Design, Streetwear style - Orbitgear, Military - Goruck.

Hi!

i chanced upon someone carrying a top loading khaki green backpack with two side pockets (shape of the bag is abit roundish not the flat kind) , material of the bag looks like nylon. I was unable to see any logo or branding clearly and the person moved away. Sounds ridiculous but, would you all bag experts have any chance of what brand i should google into?

Thanks in advance.

I pledged for one. Not sure whether can add another order. Let me know if you are interested and I will check with Black Ember.

Hi WatCult! Awesome! Thanks for the offer. I am interested in the FORGE MAX $225 USD kit, based on the FAQ, they will allow existing pledgers to add to their kit. Please help to confirm with them as their comments and community is only open to pledgers. And of course we can split the $45 USD shipping fee. :)

Anyone interested in getting a bag from Trakke? They have free shipping for purchases over 150 uk pounds so hoping to find someone to combine purchases with.

Anyone familiar with axiom 18 knows if it’s possible to fit a razerblade 2018 inside?
