hi,

i cant believe i read through almost all of the pages of this thread :s22:

am looking for a laptop backpack for when i start sch in aug.
budget is about <150ish and currently i have these 2 in mind.
not really interested in messenger bags but suggestions are always welcomed :D

Especial Tres Cycling Waterproof Laptop Backpack - Timbuk2 Bags

Phoenix Cycling Laptop Backpack | Bike Backpack - Timbuk2 Bags

can i get comments on either (or other recommendations that's around my budget)

and also, i read that some bags "destroy" ur tees? does timbuk2 bags also have that problem?

other brands that i have considered are mission workshop and also chrome. but they are a tad overbudget. still considering though so pls suggestions are welcomed :D:D

many thanks in advance!

just dont go for bags that have 1000 denier Cordura fabric on the back panel or anywhere which will rub on your clothes under normal use.
no experience with 500 denier Cordura though

Corduras are good and durable but can be abrasive. my chrome metropolis messenger eats the right kidney area of my t-shirts as that is where the weight rests.

backpack designers with half a brain would use other materials like satin-y/smooth nylons with foam inserts for the backpanel

Anyone got any comments on GORUCK bags? Are they like overrated? Or even better any current GORUCK users can share their views on the bag. Thanks :D

thanks for the info but i cannot find whether the bags i want use cordura fabric. checked both cordura website as well as tb2 but there was no specific mention of what type of cordura fabric is used :s11:

both tb2 should not be cordura at least for the back panel. in doubt just email them or check out the material in real life

this is an example of full cordura bag, back panels and underside of shoulder straps
GoRuck GR1 Backpack Review | Loaded PocketzLoaded Pocketz

those Topo Designs backpacks have cordura back panels too

all cordura Chrome backpacks from what i can see they have mesh on the underside of shoulder straps and padded back panels that are not cordura

Used Borderlinx. For Citibank cardholders

Nice.
Understand everlane doesn't do direct international shipping?
You used a third party forwarder? Mind sharing a reliable one?
Thanks.

ah, i see. well that bag looks a lot rougher than the timbuk2 ones i'm looking at.
i think i have narrowed down my search and not going for Chrome bags.
will keep reading up on them, thanks! :s12:
