Does anyone know if we can buy from overseas and import for our own personal use? Will it be confiscated by customs?

Should be can but only 3 months usage iirc.
Any amt beyond 3 mths worth risk getting confiscated at custom if you do not have a HSA approved import license.

wont get confiscated if its for own use. but you risk any infection any lens defect, manufacturing recalls, etc. import license applies to people supplying to licensed practitioner.

That's a retarded comment. I'll tell you why its more comfortable. Our eye lid margins are as sensitive as or cornea. You feel normal lenses more because of the interaction of the lens edge with your eye lids. With lenses so big 15-16mm, the lens edge is perpetually under your lid margin. Therefore its more comfortable. Problem with these lenses is the over wear of thses lenses. All the xmm patients I see wear these lenses for 12+ hours a day everyday. This is starving your eyes off oxygen. By starving your eyes off oxygen you can start off an immune response in your cornea. Should there be just a tiny nick on the surface of your cornea. And some microbes get on it. You will be screwed. Good luck with that

How to check whether my cornea is healthy?

Any optical place to make contact lens?

How much is the range of the price?

I suggest you go to a place that does a full eye assessment like Ngee Ann Poly Optometry. Fees only S$5.

They perform a fit test before and after orders.

I wanna ask if it is safe to wear dallies above the recommended 1 day usage. Maybe for an extra 1 or 2 days. Of course to rub clean and store with solution after every day.

Some people said that those 2weeks or 1month lenses were no different from a daily lens. This will effectively halve the money spent

obviously not. the reason why dailies are made so thin is so that its disposable. by extending the replacement frequency, you are only putting yourself at a higher risk of infection.

the polymer may have already changed while on your eye during the day.

not exactly. i find the daily lenses softer and more easily curled up. wouldn't recommend reusing the daillies.

get a second opinion. fitting of the lenses might not be optimal. the lens might not be centering on your eye

astig lenses/toric lenses when first placed on the eye might be blur due to the fact that the lens is not centered in your eye. What optoms would usually recommend is for you to blink your eyes afew times before the lens will rotate and center in your eye.
If that does not work it could be because the lenses are dry thus causing the blur vision and thus eyedrops might help. (not eyemo or optrex). e.g. rewetting drops.
Make sure that it is stated that the drops are suitable for use with contact lens.

make sure your optom actually see the lenses on your eyes. even if the lenses are of the correct astigmatism axis, the rotation might not be right. many optical shops do direct conversion from glasses prescription without actually looking at how the lenses interact on the eye surface.

They perform a fit test before and after orders.

Prepare for the WOT first.

At ngee ann poly optometry center,Students/future optometrist guided by a superior(current optoms/doctors)will be assessing your eye. They don't do a fit test first. What they do is that first a general eye examination would be conducted, e.g. checking your eye refractive power(eye-power/degree) followed by checking your eye health e.g. binocular eye health status THEN followed by anterior eye check e.g. checking cornea health(for contact lens fitting) then to posterior eye health check which is to check the back portion of your eye(retina, optic disc).
After this session is over, they will proceed to the CONTACT LENS FITTING SESSION whereby qns will be asked about your lifestyle, habits to determine what type of lenses would be suitable for you and then a trial pair would be given to you to try on the spot. First time wearers are also being educated on the way to put the lenses on. After all is done, if you want to order the lenses, you can and must come back for a DELIVERY SESSION whereby the lens would be given to you to bring home to wear and most probably a week later, you would have to come back for a AFTERCARE session whereby they would check if the lens is fitted well on your eye and also if the health of your eye is well after wearing the lens.

Duration for General eye test:1-2hrs
CL Fitting:1-2hrs
Delivery session:1-2hrs
Aftercare session:1hrs
These timing are stated due to the sessions slots allocated for you. They might end earlier/later depending on the situation e.g. in case any eye abnormalities are found
Side note: Timing mentioned might vary from 45mins-2hrs depending on the students level e.g. year 2/3. But just to play it safe, keep yourself free for 2hrs

Give them a call to book an appointment or just check their website to leave an online booking.

hahaha of course, thats why i mentioned it might take shorter!

basically the newer students will be given slightly longer cause they are learning thus might be slightly slower.
however usually the full examination done by the more experienced students e.g. 3rd year will take roughly 45 and hour.

you are overseas now??
