Hi all,

I hope someone here can be of help. I wish to purchase contact lenses online from Contact Lens, Sunglasses & Spectacles | GlassesOnline Singapore however I am not sure on how to enter the needed information below.

Base Curve*Power*Cylinder*Axis*

I have attached my power level slip below. So can anyone help me?https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152683672713581&set=a.10152683672653581.1073741842.652248580&type=1

It is illegal in Singapore for online contact lens purchase.

Contact lenses have to be sold by licensed professionals to people with a valid contact lens prescription and not a spectacle prescription.

Not all lenses are suitable for anyone. Different lenses fit differently. Check with your optometrist if what you are about to purchase is suitable for you. That's the very least u could do to protect yourself.

For a contact lens prescription to be valid, the following should be present: lens brand, lens base curve, lens power (sph cyl axis) and expiry date.

Which contacts lens brands better?

Biofinity or Air optix astigmatism?

there is no single lens that is better than the rest. It all depends if its fitted correctly on your eye or not. Another large part depends on the hygiene of the wearer.

Hi. My wife is using Solo Care Aqua contact lense solution for her Bausch & Lomb Soflens. She switched to opti-free replenish solution as i can't find Solo Care Aqua in stores anymore. She says the new solution makes her lens feel hard and uncomfortable. Anyone know where still selling Solo Care? Or anything equivalent ?

Solocare aqua has been discontinued when alcon bought over Ciba vision. Now only avail in Malaysia. Stores that carry them bring them from malaysia. When stock runs out. That should be it. No longer produce.
For a milder preservative solution try biotrue.
If really cannot get a comfortable one. Use peroxide systems.Use AOSept if she can't find a suitable solution.

The big 3 companies most recent MPs solutions are optifree puremoist from alcon. Revitalens from amo and bio true fr BnL. Older gem solutions are optifree replenish, complete and renu respectively.the newer ones have better antimicrobial action. I can't remember the price but should be around the same. Your eye health or save money? You decide ba.

Anybody can advise?

I wanted to try contacts, and my mom and optometrist recommended RGPs. Optometrist says that it's actually better to wear RGP and gets better the more I wear it.

I got a pair of Menicon EX, and during the first week, my vision kept blurring up. I went back and replaced both, reducing the BC to 7.9. Power on the right eye was increased.

Even after replacing, I felt that my Astigmatism on the right side isn't corrected really well like my specs. In bright light and big screens, I get a bursts.

I accidentally washed one side down and went to another shop to get it replaced. I asked the guy to help me check the fitting again and he said that the fitting was good.

My question is, is this really the best? I hate it when night time falls and I start seeing light bursts and light streaks. The first optometrist used the Zeiss machine and Menicon test set to check for me. The second used the staining solution and checked manually with the blue light.

Thanks!

RGP is the best after you are used to it in terms of clarity and comfort.

For your astigmatism, I would advice you to go back to your optometrist and and info your optometrist about this.problem.

Yes they are the best for your eye health and optical quality. Star burst can sometimes mean the lenses are too small.and your pupil size is bigger than the optical zone. Thus the glare and starburst. Astigmatism might not always be the reason since rgp lenses compensates for your astigmatism automatically most of the time.

Thanks. I did tell them. The first recommended another pair of specs for night time. The second said fitting was good, my only option was to try to use bigger diameter but he didn't recommend it.

Thanks bro. The uncle said that a bigger diameter would offer more stability but he didn't recommend it. Also, do you know how the hybrid soft lens compare to RGP? I can't find anything online. But looking at specifications, the hybrids are more permeable than the RGPs?
