best way to give contact lens a try? buy 1 month? or? and cheapest place to get?

Talk to an optometrist. Everyone has different needs and different eyes. They fit differently. Only when we try them on and have a look, then can tell u if its suitable or not.

2 weeks one should be better than 1 month... more comfortable

It doesn't work that way. Comfort comes from a combination of right fitting, right cleaning solution, right cleaning regime and following the wear schedule. If a 2 week lens does not fit well, solution not suitable won't be comfortable. Same goes for dailies

warhunter, between bioinfinity, air optix and acuvue oasys. which one would you recommend? going for monthly lenses.

went to an optician just now and she told me i had corneal neovascularization.
now using softlens 38 which is not very 'breathable' for my eyes.

All 3 are breathable. They are silicone hydeogel lenses. I can't tell u which one suits u. I havent seen u.

I have gone through almost > 60% of the total posts here and i can see Warhunter strongly upholds getting a proper lenses fitting and consultation prior buying any contacts.

I find it depressing because my optometrist in JB (consider a good/well known one) , did not perform those 'eye staining, tears test for dryness , multiple lenses fitting to see which lenses best suit one person , etc.

I know most people wouldn't care about the consultation and testing and stuff, because like seriously in Malaysia i dont think people go through such tests, EVER , and those that have worn contact lenses has no complication so far. ( refering to legit products like Acuvue and not on the shelf cheap color lenses for those teens whose brand are never heard off, with japanese looking girls on their poster/labellings) .

I know i may sound ignorant , but i am one who fear risks very very damn much (biotech grad) . I just havent heard serious complications from contact lenses wearing from anyone yet although i might easily find them if i google it.

Situation: need to be able to wear contacts for this weekend for cosplay event (STGCC) , wont wear often at all , strictly for such occasions. My eyes will blink like mad if i try the contacts.

seriously, you should get a proper consultation from a certified contact lens practitioner.

you would probably need daily disposable lenses since you only need to wear them occasionally. i wear monthly disposable lenses for sports.

I prefer getting my eye check by local optemetrist before getting contact lenses. You guys can try visualloft.sg, they offer free delivery and free eyecheck with their partner stores.

They seems more reputable local presence and last thing u want to buy is fake contact lenses from unreliable oversea website..

Good afternoon all. Been reading some pages back, other than NPOC is there any other recommended places? I don mind paying slightly higher as long as they do a good test for me for my first pair of contact lenses.

You can consider pearl's visioncare, their eye checks are comprehensive and equipment very modern & up to date
