G star or Oni. Never own them before but these are the popular raw denim.

I only wear Levi's, Uniqlo and H&M jeans.
Now wear Levi's more.

uniqlo raw denim very comfortable i like
I am not saying its not good, but its no secret they are crazy to get a good fade. So if you like your jeans to stay as good as new, its quite ok to get.

While those brands like Samurai Jeans, Oni Denim, The Flat Head. The whiskers and honeycombs fade out very significantly obvious.

yup, i guess cost also plays apart.
uniqlo selvedge jeans cost only $59.90 while other brands can go up to hundreds

Actually I don't hang outside that much, so the thick material doesn't affect me much. Home, public transport, office, tabao lunch, office, public transport, home. Barely get to bake under the sun sweating.

Just wondering if those in Singapore are successful in fading their jeans? I tried several pairs and the longest I could go without washing is about 4 months with 40-50 wears? Most of the time I wash between 2 weeks to one month. Saw that for best contrast fades, it's best to go six months without washing after initial soak. Sorry, I cannot do that.

Now my jeans are either brand new raw look or faded vintage look. I have a few pairs of jeans more than 10 years old...and I still wear them in rotation. I am reaching 35 pairs of selvedge jeans from 11oz to 22oz and selling 5 pairs at carousell to make space

I think local have many fanatics whose fades are on par on Japanese level too.

On the side note, even Uniqlo denim can fade decently but just need much more time.

I have a few pairs of jeans more than 10 years, if I don't wash for very long time, I think the sweat and grime will cause rips and I would not be able to wear for 10 years. Each of these has easily 100-200 wears, though I understand hardcore ones can wear 400 times over 1.5 years before retiring the jeans

Wanted to get a pair of jeans so went to levi's to try. It was horrible. Their 501 model is supposedly mid rise but felt still felt low for me.

I then went to reddit to looked up recommendations and 13mwz wrangler popped up. Got a pair from amazon and have been wearing them at home to break them in. These really do sit at your waist.

Got slight increase, but selvedge jeans can stretch 2 inches at the waistline, so still wearable, and comfortable. Some of them were slightly loose when I bought them, but fit snugly now. I bought 10-15 pairs from 2012-2016, 9 of them still very wearable now, especially those heavier denim as I had purposely sized up then, as I thought I would tuck in a thick undershirt in cold climates.
