You can't put li-on battery in checked in baggage. The only way is to carry on. My fren went to Europe and he had no problem at all.

Happy flying, be safe.

You may check in your Spark, but you need to hand carry the battery. i brought my spark to Greece (hand carry) with no issue at all...

dji tello? dji sparks' smaller, younger and cheaper cousin. should be some us$99 available in mar2018. believe very good for indoor photo/video taking. 5megapixel camera and 13min flight time (about the same as spark) but brushed motor hor... :s8:

i think is more worthwhile to buy this than parrot mambo

for something in between dji tello and dji spark, yuneec breeze is selling at discounted price of US$240 (~S$325) on amazon now. yuneec breeze is brushless motor, 4K video, camera gimbal, GPS, auto-pilot, 12min flight time.
I would go buy that yuneec breeze now if i still do not own a dji spark.

it is more worthwhile to get a yuneec breeze than a hubsan H501S or mjx Bugs2.

Depends what you want to use the drone for. For video taking or pictures. Go for something with video stabilzer and gimbals gps n altitude hold.
As for me, my purpose is to zip around and feel like the ostritch wearing the vr googles in the tv add.
These types of drones are not for me as it Does not have the speed or manuverability. If u fly fast and crash a dji. Its almost certainily the drone gets totaled. Somemore for that kind of price not many would want to risk crashing it. Hence most people i seen with dji juz hover their drone in one area and take directional shots.

my dji spark is like starting to give problems, when taking video at pangsua pond today. this is only my 5th flying outdoor.
the spark kept reporting compass error, and few times rotated at opposite direction when i pushed yaw. altitude is only <10m, and even if compass is noisy it should be able to be filtered by gyroscope, plus optical sensors should be functioning at that height. i do not know what's happening.
will try calibrating compass tomorrow, hope it will get back to ok.

no-lah, not calibrating the IMU. that spark never complain so i do not want to touch IMU (accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer).
only calibrated the compass today, hope it will be back to ok.

incoming new DJI poison @ live . dji . com JANUARY 23, 2018 :s13:

ok, dji announced a New "Mavic Air"
- 220mm size, 0.43kg lift-off weight, Much smaller and lighter than Mavic Pro
- 18min, 4K video, 3-axis gimbal
- US$799 for basic, US$999 for combo
- but might have problem handling windy condition, like spark

looks good, got propeller guards and i dare not fly any drones without propeller guards.

hmm,... i should be buying one set half a year later, after they have fixed all the initial production problems and bugs... meanwhile i will use my dji spark as my flying camera.

some good description of Mavic-Air from youtube

Hi all just bought spark for a few weeks only. I diy a parabolic reflector last week and tested out at Bishan MRT. With the reflector i flew to 250m (from the telemetry data on my hp) then the video signal start to distort. Without the reflector signal start to distort at about 100m. Height is........!!!
I use cardboard and aluminium surface tape , one roll $5 from hardware shop.

Another stupid trial was to mount runcam on spark with Velcro, Spark lost control once it took off. It accent immediately once took off and not controller and i activated RTH at about 40m in the air, scare losing it. After that see multi warning but i was looking at my spark more than my hp , hoping to recover it by visual if it starts to fly away.

Lucky land it without further issue after RTH , it descent slowly and managed to control at about 20m height.

Purpose for mounting runcam is to do video comparison.

I will still mount it but will use cable tie to the rotor arm than to velcro it across the spark fuselage.
