How about in a non-** condition? Is flying a small drone permitted under hdb or any playground?

where in malaysia? run out of place to fly here.

don't know where to go. need to find some local jb friend to bring around (safer, don't get robbed). may be will try forest city or puteri habour

drone could crash easily at that unfamiliar environment, so better fly some used cheap spark. next time the used spark replacement could be around S$150?... you wanna fly together?... :D

@ Man charged with taking aerial photos of Mindef Gombak Base after illegally flying drone above the area :s12:

Neo Wei Ren, a Singaporean, faces 16 charges under the Air Navigation Act.*

These include:

Four counts of using his DJI Mavic Pro drone to perform prohibited photography over the Ministry of Defence’s Gombak Base in Bukit Batok
*
Five counts of flying the drone over a protected area
*
Seven counts of not obtaining a Class 2 activity permit to operate the drone for a recreational purpose
In a statement on Monday, the police said that on Oct 13 last year, someone had reported seeing Neo’s drone flying in the immediate vicinity of the Gombak Base.

According to court documents, Neo allegedly operated the drone from a landed house along Cashew Crescent a total of seven times between May and October last year, all times without the necessary permits.

any rules for flying in malaysia?
i search their CAAS equivalent but not very clear

Hi,

Unable to find good guidelines/info on where are allowed to fly drones in M'sia. So, it is better to get some JB friends to bring around. Avoid being robbed, avoid flying near military camps, religious places, airport or istana.

I think M'sia side is 120m max altitude, and i'm thinking of flying above sea near Forest City, Puteri Harbor, or Danga Bay. Less problems of hitting any unknown restrictions.

but right now cannot fly anywhere, no even in S'pore due to Covid19.

But only 9mins :(

Hi,

1) Spark is 16min flight time. normally you could fly up to about 12min per charge. My per flight is about 6min for spark and 8min for Mavic2/Mavic-mini. Hence spark is 2-flights per battery, and Mavic2/mavic-Mini 3-flights per battery. Most of the time I'm taking aerial video so more than 6-8min flight is stressful.

2) I have DIY portable charger for spark. I can charge 4 batteries simultaneously at site.

Used Spark is cheaper and less heart pain when loses it inside M'sia jungles. For flying in S'pore then should be getting a Mavic Mini. The video FPV feed on Mavic Mini is smoother.

:D
