Current 8.0 is a beta. Doubt 8.1 will come but they'll just send out the fix for the 8.0 bugs that we have in the note 8 now. Im still facing my wifi issues no updates sent out to me yet! :(

FYI. That crappy free stinktel router is sabotaging the wifi of many Android phones. Probably you should try changing to another brand of router before selling away your phone. Please check with stinktel whether they support other brand of routers..

Btw, I am using Oreo 8.0 on my Android phone since last year November. No issue with my wifi when connected to my Asus router or wireless@SG.

Go check your settings like wifi/bluetooth and sync settings first. And do you use the phone a lot during that 5 hours? Max screen brightness? Performance mode max? Data constant running?

It drains by itself without touching it. Settings are default. I checked the battery stats it says the majority of the usage is taken up by android os. What does it mean?

Android OS usually is things related towards Hardware such as GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi. You might want to check your Google location settings if it is trying to get your location to report to google for location sensitive notification. If you are leaving your device alone for a longer duration of time without using it. You might want to turn off WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.

bluetooth off. even i leave those on, battery shouldn't drain drastically like 10%/hr? it was fine for the first week when i bought it.

GPS? Have you installed something that uses alot of location data?
If you are mostly on WiFi then it is likely syncing/Uploading something. Do you have some sort of Back up like Google Photos or even Samsung Gallery Back up running?

1 thing is constant data running. Syncing. Do you use stock email app? If you so, whats the sync schedule.

If doesnt have anything that drains batt. Try factory reset.

slightly better today. i notice that when i check apps in battery usage stats. under each app, it says optimising battery usage. is it the cause of the battery drain? also i am having auto rotate problem. it stop working suddenly :(

For that should be helping you to save batt. To prevent those optimized apps from running in the background. But always sleeping apps might not receive notification.

Another thing, is the place you usually at, have bad connections to your network? If it does, it might affect as well.

I dont met with any problems with auto rotate. If your phone have so many problems, try factory reset it.

You must be a Android user. No that is not a sign of drain and that is what you want, Application to be optimised for battery usage. It just means the system is allowed to control the usage of the application so it can turn them off when you are not using.

Is your auto rotation enabled?

Is the orchid gray side frame chrome without paint coating that can corrode, or is it coated shiny silver paint? Did your orchid grey have black spots after sometime? I saw a demo set that has black spots that seems like corrosion of chrome that eat into the frame.

Hey all, I have a small black smudge on the top right hand corner of my note 8. A few days ago, it is a small block spot that did not bother me. However, it has become a obvious smudge. No screen crack or no fall/drop. Can I claim warranty?

Any photo of it? Please don't post a screenshot.

Bought a new note 8 today, went home and then look at whole green background and it looks like there is a bright dot.

If I go service center tomorrow is it possible to 1 to 1 exchange?

If they only allow send in repair, after repairing lcd panel is there risk of not waterproof or dust appear inside or other problems?

Thanks

Same exact thing happened to one of the note 8 i bought out of 4 units i have. They wanted to do a repair i told them it hasnt been even 7 days and i want a 1 to 1 exchange. They agreed. Do not settle for a repair... like why? Its a new unit that has issues! Get a new one within 7 days.
