Is Dex supposed to replace your PC, so that you only need a monitor and keyboard at home? If not can't really see what's the use, since can't just connect to any monitor, still need that round thing

That round thing is a deck with ports that you connect your monitor and mouse and keyboard and other USB items to it.

So yes, you need that deck which is the Dex.

Edit: you can bring the Dex around and just connect to any monitor and keyboard and mouse to form a PC setup

That greatly reduced the portability. It's like you're at somewhere then suddenly oh, need to do some urgent work, can just borrow a monitor and cable which are common items. Can't be bringing the Dex stage everywhere you go mah.

I mean it will just be more useful this way
