After sending my N8 to replace the front camera, I somehow feel that the screen touch sensitivity isn't as good. Furthermore I am not using ANY SP. Is this possible?

Sent from Samsung Galaxy Note 8 using GAGT

Don't think this is normal. Without sp N8 screen very sensitive. Maybe take back to the repair place and check..

Isn't anyone perturbed by the aggressive privacy settings in regards to screenshotting? Even some random websites on chrome may have for no reason be prevented from being screenshot and apps as well.

And in an everyday affair, even though the phone will be connected to WiFi, it will randomly not download or send out any traffic. As a result, you won't receive any Whatsapp messages out of nowhere and when you try to send, you will get the clock icon to say your message is not even sent. The fix is to turn off and on Wifi connectivity on your phone. Tedious and especially bad if you are expecting important messages even though you have not used your phone for some time.

It feels like we have reached a stage where we are having features stripped away in these newer phones and I don't feel like I want to look forward to upgrading to future phones. Between the Note 8 and the Note 7, I would have gladly get back my Note 7 with the perfect fingerprint ID location and more.

With this new bezel-less display and especially with phone covers, all you will get to see is the black front screen and not even a hint of the colour of the phone that you've chosen. Utterly dull and uninteresting.

Well.. It is by design. Privacy of the Incognito has to be respected
  • Incognito tabs will no longer show in the Android "recents" menu.
  • Screenshots can no longer be taken of Incognito tabs.

Samsung is not selling defective hardware for this case. Just "defective" software.

They never test fully with all available wireless routers etc and release the updates.

Just like their updates that bricked their QLED TV and Gear Fit2 Pro. Just google and you can read so many cases.

Want to be safe? Once Samsung released their updated software, wait for as many feedback as possible then update. :s22:

and oreo take centuries to come out already, yet have problem?

As mentioned they did not fully test with all available wireless routers.

Nor the local Samsung fully test whatever are mostly used in their local market.

Guess they are focusing on their batteries now. To make sure the Note7 story will never repeat.

Not enough manpower for software testing...

I am still on 7.1.1. Tried to check my imei by dialing *#06# and to no avail, kept giving me the error:

1) first it shows - USSD Code Running... followed by:
2) Connection problem or invalid MMI code.

Able to help out on this?

You mean you did not know about this before?

SG has always been one of the slowest.

Anyway, please bring it up with Samsung Singapore instead of here. Their facebook for example. But I doubt they will "hiew" you also. :(

No offence, but why are you so into with quick updates? Having newer updates do not mean it will be stable too - like bad battery drains, unresponsiveness, etc etc. In fact, more new bugs will be introduced as well beside fixing the old ones. Furthermore, Note 8 is not part of the Android One program. So I thought frequent updates shouldn't be part of the considerations when purchasing the phone? If the phone is working like a charm with the current updates, I will rather keep it this way. Just a thought, nothing personal.

I have to agree.

I'd rather have a working phone than making a trip to Samsung service centre.

Look at the bugs in recent iOS release as well.

Don't expect bug free firmware from the top two manufacturers.

Try looking for your IMEI within the Settings application. See if it is present there
