haha yea i feel the same way but
every now and then i still wipe out some cash to get album. sometimes when you can't seem to get what you want online, you have to resort to getting the album itself.
there are lots of demos online

sometimes there are also a little privilege in getting an actual album
quality/ bonus tracks/ dvd and stuff like that

i keep hearing ads about supporting originals on the radio every time i work, so one of those reasons actually led me to this lol.
another thing is, its good to support those bands you love

i was thinking like.. if this forum were to have something like that here :S i think its gonna be chaos. so maybe we'll just stick to where we are at right now :S
in the meantime

do you guys sit at home and do some "homework"( that being reading up reviews or sampling songs) or just head down from shop to shop just browse, see what you like and get it?

During my school days, I used to go down to the shops and just hamtam whatever cover that attracts me and that is how I got to know Iron Maiden. :s13: Their album art is nice.

These days I just rely on recommendations or when a new album get release, I'll buy it if I happen to see it and test it out.

haha. it'll be a big waste of cash if the music didn't sound good, instead the album art looks good =/

hehehe +1 to that. not to mention my horizons were broadly expanded. i'm more exposed to more different genres like sludge/stoner and funeral doom.

i still liked the old nightwish haha. dragonforce is getting pretty boring. caught their concert when they came down to singapore. Kamelot, blind guardian, gamma ray are some of my favs. somehow there doesn't seem to be new power metal bands that really caught my attention. maybe someone intro me some?

haha the angela is one of those rare female vox thats a really rare. she's good with her scrreams/growls she hardly sounds like a woman.

other bands like Otep, Walls of Jericho and such, their fem vox didn't make a big impression on me, or maybe its just me
