As many IRON MAIDEN shirts as I see in this county on people I am really surprised no concert promoter has ever booked them here. What's up with that?

I've been here over 2 years and MAIDEN dominates the "t shirt scene"

bands I like -
Maiden,
Judas Priest
Queensryche
Stryper
Armored Saint
Ratt
Trouble
Lillian Axe
Dio
Kiss
Rush
Dream Theater
Five Finger Death Punch
Rage Against the Machine
Disturbed
Corrossion of Conformity
Metallica
Tesla
Testament

i think its cost wise. because Maiden is a Worldwide recognised band, maybe they could cost alot?

I am sure they do cost a lot but it's not like Singapore has any shortage of worldwide recognized entertainment. We just had Green Day here and they're huge...Coldplay, Rod Stewart, The Police, I am sure all these acts command the same dollar figure if not more, than Maiden would.

I'd like a Scorpions show too and since they announced they would be touring "everywhere" in 2010 I better get one here. They specifically said they wanted to tour Asia so a promoter here better be working on that one.

never heard of either band and never heard of that venue. I presume it's a club.

Far from a club hah....it's a pure performing venue....no frills....just a standing venue with a stage...near SMU and Timbre@Substation.

I don't feel much for misery index but between the buried and me is certainly a very talented progressive band worth checking out

Part of me likes that - BB&M - but then he starts "singing" and it sounds like 1000 other bands...what is it with 2day's metal scene that NO ONE CAN FRIGGIN SING ANYMORE???

Did singing become "poser"
gimme a Geoff Tate or Klaus Meine or Rob Halford

everybody just screams and growls now and this is supposed to be cool? I am too old I guess...39. Can't listen to someguy growl words I can't understand for 90 minutes...to me there's no point in writing lyrics if your not going to sing them in a way that can be understood.

I guess the appropriate times when growling is implemented is to complement the way the music is played and to convey the aggression in the music. But i wouldn't rule out the fact that a lot of bands are doing it now cause it's like the "in" thing.

It works if done with consideration. But of course when it comes down to personal preference, some might not like it no matter which context it's being applied in =p

Different genre of metal? Wah dunno when will G. Tate have something new again. He along with R. Halford and B. Dickinson have soring vocals, at least Priest and Maiden are still active. Maiden's new album is due this year, waiting for it.

Metalcore is popular these days, so probably more growls! lol.
