Part of me likes that - BB&M - but then he starts "singing" and it sounds like 1000 other bands...what is it with 2day's metal scene that NO ONE CAN FRIGGIN SING ANYMORE???

Did singing become "poser"
gimme a Geoff Tate or Klaus Meine or Rob Halford

everybody just screams and growls now and this is supposed to be cool? I am too old I guess...39. Can't listen to someguy growl words I can't understand for 90 minutes...to me there's no point in writing lyrics if your not going to sing them in a way that can be understood.

the original intention was to read the cd sleeve for lyrics. The growls in a greater context becomes another instrument in the music.

My impression of the current metal scene is that screams and death growls equate to heaviness which means you are more cool. Real singing can still be found in power metal and progressive metal but sadly a lot of them tend to sound similar.

@padre
wow they sounds great... prove that metal can still be metal without vocals :s13:

Far from a club hah....it's a pure performing venue....no frills....just a standing venue with a stage...near SMU and Timbre@Substation.

I don't feel much for misery index but between the buried and me is certainly a very talented progressive band worth checking out

Couple of pages back, I posted a video of Misery Index.

if u like Converge, Cave-in, u will like them.

btw, Converge had one of the best metal releases last yr

Different genre of metal? Wah dunno when will G. Tate have something new again. He along with R. Halford and B. Dickinson have soring vocals, at least Priest and Maiden are still active. Maiden's new album is due this year, waiting for it.

Metalcore is popular these days, so probably more growls! lol.

Tate and Ryche just wrapped up a world tour supporting last year's album AMERICAN SOLDIER. I have seen it stocked at HMV. There r some songs posted on their myspace page from that album. Ryche is still very much active, they've made 4 albums this decade, Tribe, OperationMindcrime II, Take Cover and American Soldier.

" When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them. I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to be a bass player for Metallica. "

~ Hulk Hogan, in an interview with the Chicago Tribune .

not really sure if this is the place for it but I do have some dvd's I am looking to get rid of...$10 each..mostly 80's metal/hard rock -

Bon Jovi “Crush” tour
Dokken LIVE IN JAPAN 1995
Kiss Eric Carr documentary –Tale of the Fox
Lenny Kravitz “LennyLive” (concert footage/documentary)
John Lennon Imagine (documentary about deceased Beatles member)
Poison “Greatest Video Hits”
Quiet Riot LIVE IN JAPAN 1988
Queensryche “Live Evolution”
Twisted Sister “Video Years –Stay Hungry tour Live 1984” (this also features performance from U.K. tv show in 82 where Lemmy from Motorhead joins them on stage. Really raw rare footage)

I've watched them all dozens of times and would rather have the cash.
I also have a lot of movies. I am trying to raise some extra $$ to make up for extra expenses that arose out of nowhere.

drop me a line at: undoubtingthomas@gmail.com if anyone's interested. Thanks.

Posting this again, because I felt Chimaira's album was kinda underrated last year.

Chimaira's "Infection" DVD-The Heart Of It All (Studio Recording)

One of my fave metal bands
