I do have a similar edge kotes for sale, but its not Fiebing's. Please refer to post #2579, pg 172 of this thread.

Ahh... Do you mind posting a sample pic of both the black japanese edge kotes applied and flexed..? Kinda worried about the sound of enamel finish because i need the kotes to be able to withstand flexing without cracking. Thanks for the reply.!

This is when its newly applied and flexed.

This is after some intense rubbing with a rag.

As you can see, the effect of cracking and peeling is minimal. This is referring to the Japanese brand edge kote (the one with the yellow label).

Yes, the smaller bottle with words 'Cova Colour' is enamel-based, it does crack a little when flexed hard.

I do have another one at the back, its a matte black dye, likewise does not crack or peel (the least among the 3).

I think we can open up an official thread of leather making in the hobby section where all the information can be shared and maybe in future, we can have gathering to share some ideas bout leather making and pattern.

WX2 is a creativity branch of Obbi Good Label originally base on Work Wear inspired concept. Still maintaining this belief, we continue this concept onto the militant.

This Spring, will be introducing WX2 – Military Style.

Each wallet has got a story of its own, presenting its design background, the imagination of the tradesman and then combining its functionality into a realistic concept.

Just spent quite a bit buying tools in Taipei. Had to resist not to buy those nice to have tools which I don't need (yet). Last week spent quite a bit on trimmings and hardware in Kaohsiung.

Nice! I do know that some stuff are made there especially some tools from Tandy.

Just wondering if their prices are good or not.

Not cheap. And very far out. Cheaper to get in China and HK.

I'm on a mobile. Can't do much on it. PM me and I'll reply with details when I get back (to Singapore).

I experimenting making a card/cash holder yesterday. First time making use of the thread I got from Toby88 since I got it from him some time back. Turned out OK for a first try.

However after finishing up, I faced a problem. It's too tight to fit in more than a few cards. -_- Not sure if maybe it's because the leather I used is too stiff or maybe I pulled the stitches too tight, but looks like I can only use this as a card holder and not a wallet replacement as I intended.

I went to Ivan.

Prices are not cheap. I have feedback to the person in charge there. Told him I'm buying cos I can't get them in Singapore, not becos it's cheap. Not much of a choice I have. If there's anyone interested in buying, we can combine our purchase and get them shipped to us.

I was told this is cheaper. I did a quick comparsion before I decided to head to Ivan. Prices are similar. I don't have much time and it's very inconvenient to go to 印地安.

There's Figure 21 which is more accessible. Some leathercraft people (in Taipei) have warned me that Figure 21 is very expensive. It was closed on the days I was in Taipei so I didn't go.

Count me in. I am looking for stamping tools at the moments.
Ivan's stuff are somehow similar to Tandy's. Didn't really look at the 印地安 website ( my chinese is not very spectacular, must process in head like a slow cpu).

Wow! very nicely done. Seems like the thread was placed into good use!
For this design, you are actually meant to place only 1-2 cards per slot (by right..).

Putting more cards into it would mean
- it will bulk up due to the number of cards. which leads to 2 scenarios
-leather will stretch eventually. so u are able to pull in/our cards easier.
-put more cards in.
-it will become a little loose in the future.

Other than that, you should try to use softer leathers. Less in thickness (oz.) and softer in nature (e.g. sheep or goat). Like this, you can put more cards in due to it being more forgiving, since its less stiff.

Its not really due to the stitching (since I don't see 'hills and valley', that's the effect of over-tension). More to do with allowance of space. For this design, its meant for less cards.
So, its more like a nature of the design. That's why card holders you see in commercial products are more towards individual plastic cases for each card design OR a single big compartment to place cards into it.

Tandy sells stuff that Ivan makes.

I have a set of alphabet stamping tools that my friend helped buy in HK. Never used cos he bought the wrong one for me. I wanted something else. If u are keen, I'll snap a pix and send to u.
