Hi guys sorry to bother this forum, I don't use forums much.
I gotta ask.
I have a doc martens and I want to polish and shine the leather. However there's a yellow seam on the sides, how do I avoid getting polish on it?

Easy to wipe off the wax from the seams.

Hi Everyone,

Newbie reporting in, I've just started in leather crafting myself. Took some courses from atelierlodge.com, brought some tools and leather and started making things myself.

Mainly doing small stuff such as keyless car key pouch and card pouch for myself, and now doing a watch strap.

Where do you all get your leather from? I bot a piece of Buffalo from atelier, went to grand leather, they have intensive collection, too bad they only sell whole piece, which is too much for my current consumption, and I've got some leather from Taobao.

Now looking into trying Veg Tan Leather. Where would you recommend I buy them from? How's the price like?

Would also like to try dying veg tan leather too, what brands of dye do you use? any advise on oiling/sealing?

Hope to do more and refine my skills. hopefully sifu here can help out :)

Thanks.

You can try to head over to Facebook's interest group, look up "The Leather Society". Group discussions are quite active there compared to this thread these days.

Just a brush and condition your boots as others mentioned. If you wear them regularly, condition once every 6 mths good enough. If you don't wear them regularly, be sure to condition every few mths. Our weather very prone to fungus. And fungus loves leather.

And I m referring to the normal smooth leather. No experience with suede or roughout.

tried cleaning and washing the whole boot and used timberland's dry cleaning kit as well as their suede and nubuck cleaner too, but cant seems to come out. boots have been kept in storage for sometime since last oversea winter trip, didnt really do any maintenance before storage. now take them out again to use for another trip.
